ОтветитьWas movie was that?
ОтветитьPerfect renderings for all of them, I'd say.
ОтветитьFun Fact! If you've eaten a fruit called Logan, pronounced like Wolverine's name, but the proper way to pronounce it in Chinese is with the dragon pronounciation Long - n - ah - n meaning Dragon Eye.
ОтветитьNo wonder we've never seen a Pheonix.
ОтветитьIm Chinese and you make me feel respected
ОтветитьNine tails fox like in Naruto?
ОтветитьYou're insulting Trump the president
ОтветитьThe Chinese government said his age is 200 years and some said he lived to 250 years
ОтветитьThank You Kindly for a great explanations of all these wonderful creatures....from Global South.
Ответитьuse 'loong' instead of 'dragon'
ОтветитьCan we have another one of this and include the Qun Peng and Pi Xiu?
ОтветитьThank you for a fascinating explanation. I was born in the year of the dragon, element is water. Family name also has water in the character.
ОтветитьI bet qilin was actually a real ancient beast that was hunted to extinction.

ОтветитьI have them 9 tails foxes I think 😊❤
Ответитьnot all mentioned is correctly according to myths... westerns can never have deep root over asian culture even if he is born here
ОтветитьThe editing is hilarious and top notch. Kudos!
ОтветитьThe CGI Long(dragon) and Qiling is like the new disney snow white: very, very ugly compared to what people had in mind from the tales of them, and will get much hate if it is a Chinese-produced film. Being a US-produced film just shows how little they care about the authenticity of the story, it also reminds me of assassin creed is having black people killing japannese, very very disrespectful.
ОтветитьNaruto 💀
ОтветитьYou have depth!
ОтветитьI just found this video and it's a great intro to the different mythical creatures. There are even more under 山海经 and it would be cool to cover them. However, I do want to point out that the two birds on fire shown is probably meant to be ZheQue (朱雀)instead of 凤凰. For some reason, folks often associate the Western Phoenix to 凤凰 but I think a better association is 朱雀. 凤凰 is meant to be an extremely beautiful bird and the fire association is relatively modern. Also, I think this makes more sense as 望女成凰 would mean hoping daughters to be beautiful.
ОтветитьInteresting
where are the sources for these so-called myths ,i.e., where are the ancient writings, if any, to read from.
I'm not sure how you got your dates.
Also, St George Kills the Dragon in Western Tradition
it's meant to be the devil?
6000 BC really? LOL
actually fun face in a Chinese dialect spoken in Malaysia, Hokkien, giraffes are called 麒麟鹿 (in chinese Qilin Lu, in hokkien Ki Lin Lok) which translates to Qilin deer lol
ОтветитьWhy there are no Fantasy Movies about the Xian until now?
ОтветитьTán jì
ОтветитьSaw the movie and thought these were very interesting Mythological animals in China mythology.
I knew about the dragon and the phoenix. The symbol that is shown on the wedding banquet wall above the bride and groom.
It would be interesting to explore some of the wedding traditions game people play during wedding day.
Dad mentioned that some of the groom friends would take apart the couple wedding bed and hind the piece around the house on their wedding day and the couple would spend all night looking for the pieces, to try to put back the bed together.
I think it’s tomfoolery during the wedding night but I not too sure if it is traditional?
I also remember Dad once told of a story about the bride family and their relatives got the groom drunk and switch daughter during the wedding night, the oldest daughter wasn’t very attractive and she had no suitor, plus the fact she was getting older. (27 years old)
She did bore him several sons in the end to everybody content including the groom and his family.🥂🍾😢😂🤣
It would be interesting to find out how some of the regions in China, celebrated wedding, from traditional matchmaker to selling their daughter off to a wealthy family.
That was what grandma try to do with my mother. She was 17 years old but she was hated by my grandmother. The guy was in his 80’s.
Mom family was not poor grandfather was working in America and he would send money back to China so the family was living comfortably. Mom quickly ask grandfather to buy paper to come to America. He did and that was how she end up in America.
(Close call)😱
I think but not sure about there was a book called: “The Red Lantern.”
It was one of the books we had to read in junior high school. But I am not sure of the title.
Take care and thanks for the sharing these interesting facts about China and its history.
🙏🙏🙏
a qilin isn't always a horse, its ungulate parts can come from any animal with hooves that is significant in chinese culture. a creature that is specifically a draconic horse is more a longma.
ОтветитьChinese fake animals
ОтветитьIdk much, but where I'm from in India, we consider Foxes to be incredibly "cunning" animals with high intelligence who do have the ability to fool you. Rural folks still say it. Guess there's fascination with foxes in every culture
ОтветитьChinese dragon = leviathan
Ответить一想到韩国说九尾狐是韩国的就想笑。。中国无论是出土的古物,洞穴的壁画,还是挖出来的书籍、诗歌和绘画都能找到一些九尾狐的元素,而且追溯几千年😅
ОтветитьVery interesting. Even I am a Chinese, I have learned more about Chinese traditional culture from your videos.
ОтветитьWho was dijang?
ОтветитьKitsune isn’t"Chinese"but Japnese😅❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьQilin was featured prominently in opening sequence of the most recent Fantastic Beasts movie (harry potter series). Eddie Redmayne pronounced Qilin expertly! I was thoroughly impressed
