Unboxing A New Tamiya Unimog 4x4 CC-02 Mercedes Benz 406 Series U900 1/10th Off-Road RC Truck 58692

Looks a good kit to build I'm part way through building my hotshot and I'm enjoying it any ideas on upgrades or aluminium parts it's not going to be driven much more of a shelf queen fantastic video mr gavin 😀

I've enjoyed your Mercedes up grades on this Chassis will those upgrades work on this new model and what would you suggest as a good upgrade for muddy unimog 😜

The CC02 deserves so much more love. People bash on it because it indeed isn't as capable as a TRX4 or such trucks. But does it have to? The CC01 is terrible and people loved it. All you need to do on a CC02 upgrade the tires and it performs suprisingly well. And yes the steering has slop and bumpsteer but Tamiya owners know all about that.
I love my CC02, I love modding it, I love looking at it and I certainly love driving it. I heared TRX4 owners complain how it just takes everything you throw at and takes the fun out of skilled driving. Something I haven't said yet about my Tamiya trucks.

There are only just a few cool vintage vehicles to Copy..............thus all the Unimogs, Defenders, FJs................and🤣Jeeps. After 56 times round the sun, and 47 in land, air, sea RC..........Just like movies..........it's just reruns/remakes from now on😆

Hi Gavin, unless i misheard as I have rubbish hearing did t they release a Unimog on the lunchbox/pumpkin chassis as well? What i want is the Defender on the CC02 ;)

I love the Unimog, had a toy (maybe matchbox or something) Unimog when I was little and loved the crap out of it, been in love with Unimog’s ever since. When the CC01 version was released, I wanted it, but couldn’t afford it, now with the CC02, I would still love to get one but already spend my money on new pedals for my racing sim setup, so no new r/c cars for the foreseeable future unfortunately...

Any word on the thunder dragon or top force evo I have pre order both of them and I have not got either one of them when I check the website from tamiya the thunder dragon is sold out

That is a beautiful Mog, love the cc02 chassis as well. Yes I do have the Tamiya Unimog 425 cc01 and Axial Umg10.

Has to be something with the license deal why Tamiya does so many Unimogs. But yet there's a dearth of Mercedes F1 models from them. Go figure.

Try mounting the servo on the axle to stop the bump steer.

I have the G500 Tamiya CC-02. I also like the truck. I got the metal axles, both the front and rear. I also got the metal gear box too. I also got all of the links in metal. I also got the metal mounts for the links. I got a Hobby Wing ESC and a Holmes Hobbies 550 brushed motor. I really would like a metal chassis, but nobody makes on yet. Thoughts?

I was a fan of the car wall but the new studio is growing on me. The different camera angles are nice. Thanks for the video 👍🏻

Hi Gavin, great video on the Unimog. Tamiya really like the Unimogs, the first ever Tamiya Unimog goes back to 1986 in 1/32 scale mini 4x4.

It was the U 406 Unimog on the CC-01 chassis that finally got me into RC kits. I pondered long because of the costs involved, but an offer for the kit for 199€ at the local Unimog museum finally broke the ice. That was 3 years ago.

You missed the wheelie edition of the uni mog blue edition as well as the orange.

CR01 Unimog came in kit form 58414, RTR orange 23661 and RTR yellow 23662

That's not a bad looking kit to be honest, I've always liked the Unimog bodyshell, looks great! If it's going to be an occasional runner then I wouldn't bother with full bearings, it's not really worth it. Then again they're so cheap these days you might as well ;)

Tamiya produce a set of Matt chrome axel cases and gearbox casings , they are quite reasonably priced so you can have the bling without the sting.

Tamiya makes portal axles, so why not include them with this Unimog?

New studio definitely needs some sound dampening. The echo is horrendous.

I'd like to see the cc02 come with the later model unimog body and when are they going to get with the rest of manufacturers and include metal ball bearings?

Funny enough personally I like the CCO one better.

I certainly enjoy all your videos. Your presentation is very well done. I doubled back to mention that I used one of your tips yesterday…that is I used an arts & crafts circle template to “mask off” tires while I painted the wheels. I find masking tires a particularly tedious chore & was very happy just placing the template over the tire & “securing” it with a piece of masking tape one wheel after another. I actually bought an entire set of templates for just this application. CREATIVE MEMORIES SYSTEM. Thank you & keep up the great work!

Great review. Convinced me to buy the pre-painted version. I would like to get some nicer wheels and tyres but not sure what would fit. I like the look of FTX Mauler/Kanyon or the Pro-Line Pro-Line Badlands 2.8 All Terrain Tyres on Raid 6X30 Black Wheels. Any recommendations that would fit will be greatly appreciated.

Great kit, I ordered it for myself. As a huge Unimog fan I would love to see a 411 body as well. In dark green with red wheels please= :-)
