Lol, B+ for effort on this one. Shadows? Shadows are not darkness. Darkness exists everywhere...that there's no light. There is no speed involved. It was already there. Shadows would not exist without a light source. Darkness exists BECAUSE there's no light source. Shadows exist because of light, darkness exists because of the absence of light. Everything gets dark when a light is extinguished. The "gets" part of "gets dark" doesn't occur at a rate of speed, the extinguished light is merely returning its surrounding to its natural state: darkness.

Well dark doesn't actually travel at all , something has to illuminate an area for there to be any light.

This is an absurd question. While light is energy and moves at definitive speed "dark" does no have these properties. "Dark" is not something, it is defined by the lack of anything, notably light.

Light…is composed of subatomic particles. If “dark” was a thing like light would it also be composed of particles? Has anyone ever looked for particles of dark?

Ok, this feels like a pretty big stretch to create content. Jokes on me I guess because I DID click on it.

Light is made of photons. Dark is made of nothingness. It’s an action vs reaction. Light has to be blocked to generate dark. Dark cannot be generated unto itself. We can in fact create light.

Everywhere was dark once. And then, ‘light’ came along and those with the faculty of ‘sight’ could ‘see’.
No different from those with the ‘faculty’ of ‘hearing’ can ‘see in a silent world’. As we continue on this path, we will have to learn to control our minds much better or regret our ‘progress’. Continuing on this path, being still adolescents of the species (Carl Benson) are we even likely to that long!?🤔

If we are talking about dark as the absence of light then it couldn't be real darkness. What really should be studied to maybe get more sufficient answer is dark energy or dark matter which according to scientific data takes up time and space.

Light is a photon moving really fast. What a shadow is we do not yet have the capability to measurable. But here is the grand trick, in order to see something with a flashlight, the beam has to travel from the source, bounce of the object and return to your eyes. Perspective to the light source will alter visuals and so the measurement should be different. The time it takes you to see a tree, should be fast then a person standing 45% to your right and twice as far back. Yet measuring such a thing as light is almost always done from personal point of view, and this fails to see the whole picture.
