The very first thing that caught my eye was the torsion bar drop, negating most of that lift...
IF you want to really lift a torsion bar truck, the first thing you need to do is eliminate the torsion bar suspension, you can keep the independent front suspension, just kick those torsion bars to the curb...
BDS makes a GREAT coil over suspension kit for that truck, it may not be a 13" lift, but it is a 10" lift and much cleaner look as well as a full lift, not leaving torsion bars hanging down cutting fame to ground clearance in half...
The Duramax has been the enduring mark on the diesel pickup truck industry...
While there have been many iterations over the yrs, from the venerable LB7 to the most modern L5P, the base has always remained the same, that cannot be said of the cummins or the powerstroke...

Last but not least, I have a 2002 GMC 2500HD w/LB7 6.6l Duramax, BDS lifted 4.5 REAL inches, w/new 5" leafsprings, NO blocks, running 35x12.50x18 Yokohama G003's and certainly NOT stock under the hood, or in the drivetrain...
Parked in the garage is a 2020 GMC 3500HD AT4 with an L5P that I use for towing...
The newest is a 2024 Silverado 1500 Trail Boss LT with the 2nd gen 3.0l LZ0 "baby" Duramax, which BTW is a phenomenal engine, rated @305HP and 495ft/lbs, it's an absolute beast...

All three have good and bad Diesel Engines but I'd stay with the Duramax with the Allison transmission.
