the "don't touch my kids" spell coming from an angry kids loving mother is one of the most powerfull, devastating and terrifying one. even some muggles mothers can use it inconsciously.

According to the book, it might have been anything. According to the movie, reducto is the most likely explanation. Ginny has an affinity for it too, like mother like daughter comes into play.

Also remember that in this universe of Harry Potter: there is something called ancient magic. It could be very possible that in trying to protect her daughter, she tapped into one of those very ancient and simple forms of magic that allowed her soul to remain clean and simply revealed the fact that Her enemies Sol was already broken into pieces, and all it needed was the final little flick of the metaphorical thumb and index fingers.

Brother, I truly enjoy all your videos and if I may provide some unsolicited feedback: why don’t you end each video with your own opinion as to which of your hypotheses is your personal choice and let us play devils advocate or agree with you. That would be even more enriching than your wonderful videos that provide Very in-depth options of these events. Your own thoughts would allow us some sort of finality and a closing point for us to have a discussion; both amongst ourselves and with you.

I always thought she either did use the killing curse or more likely her love of her family tapped into true killing magic. Its taught many times that intent is as important as the words of a spell and its directly confirmed Molly had the intent to kill Bellatrix.
Harry himself used the torture curse without consequence. I could see Molly getting away with the same and when Voldemort got more power over the Ministry he legalized the unforgivable spells so it is just social stigma at that point to not cast them. I know if my family was threatened to that degree and I had a way to finish them off I would have a hard time not using it. So because of those reasons I actually think Molly pulled off the strongest avada kedavra in the series through sheer intent to protect.

I feel like if someone just nearly killed your daughter, you'd be willing to use a gun to kill someone even if you're against guns.

Also in the book, it does seem like avada kadavra was used, as it even says she topples over (her corpse collapsing) and further it explains that the spell hit her in the heart. Avada Kadavra often is also described targeting the heart. Again, she didn't turn into dust or flakes in the book like she did in the movie, which you can presume she used something entirely different in the movie. In the movie, it was a made up spell for the sake of cinema. In the book, she likely used avada kadavra.

In another video that talks about this made more sense that she maybe used a spell that dries and then a bombarda to explode. She may be a powerful witch or like you said, came from a powerful family but she is a stay at home mom taking care of her kids. She likely used a drying spell that she's familiar with laundry or dishes as the first spell de-hydrates bellatrix's body and since Bellatrix is weakened by that, then her body has no chance against bombarda

It was such a smart decision to have Molly be the one to kill Bellatrix. When she won, it was like watching our mom doing something impossible. I always thought it was a different kind of awesome when I saw my mom win something vs watching my dad win something.

Maybe she used just these spells.... Either she turned her into stone or ice and then used a simple shock wave spell, to shatter her, if you take the movie into account.

"She didnt use avada kedavra" not to stoop to the level of the bad guys? So just because you use another killing spell you're better? There's a difference between killing someone with a rifle and a hand pistol? Silly argument. The morals or lack thereof to take anothers life remains the same no matter which method you use, assuming both are instant death. And why wouldnt she wanna kill the killer of her son? Lame.

I dont think it was a simple spell we have seen many times in the series, but something way more serious and terrifying. You can see Bellatrix's body kind of imploding, before exploding (of course if we look at the movie). It looked way way worse than simply dying to the killing curse.

There was no spell... at least not specific. It was just pure rage of a mother protecting her family. The magic doesn't come from the spell, the spell is merely a statement of intent, the magic comes from within the person. Molly only had to channel all of the love for her family and rage against Bellatrix through her wand. It's the same as Lily's protection of Harry, and Harry's protection of his friends, no specific incantation was necessary, just the intent

I personally like the idea of an unknown spell.

A mother’s protection. Never mess with a momma bear. That includes her children.

I’d assume it’s like Severus’ laceration spell. Something conjured up by the powerful magician. Good luck MoM.

There is another aspect of the movie version you seem to have missed. If you pay close attention, just after Molly "freezes" Le Strange, Bella's chest cavity seems to constrict just before she explodes. As to the written version, I agree. Molly stopped Bella's heart either from BFT from a stunning spell, or perhaps an electric like charge from some other type of spell.
