2024 E-Ray 1,500 Miles later & WHY I still DON'T want a Z06!

I agree with you 100%!!! The E-Ray is just more user friendly and less tail happy as I’ve seen it do in multiple videos. The ZR1 although epic will be worse especially in the wet. Pro Charger has a kit for the E-Ray that doesn’t require the body to be lifted off for installation if 0-60 in 2.5 and 10.5 in the 1/4 mile isn’t quick enough for you. Corvette C8s new and used are becoming more plentiful so that should help the overall market/price gouging.I’m just weighing the option of buying a couple of cars like a Darkhorse manual and an Audi RS3 instead of one E-Ray. Some cars,especially manual equipped ones are becoming more scarce. I’d like to acquire some before they go the way of the Dodo bird…

The Z06 sound means nothing to me. I actually prefer 6.2 sound but figure the 5.5 can/would grow on me. I did want the wide body, that was important. I have a C7 GS. But resale is important to me.

The E-Ray is the more practical sports car, but to say it's better than the Zo6 is false. The Zo6 sounds better and handles better. It is the better sports car...period.

Anyone worried about putting the power down in the Z06 can't drive and should go for the all-wheel drive E-Ray.

My rear wheel drive Supra makes more HP to the wheels than the Zo6 makes to the crank, and I don't have any problems putting the power down, and I am NOT running slicks. I even take traction control off when my tires have properly heated up.

If you are afraid of the Z06 power, you are an inexperienced driver and should go for the E-Ray, especially if you want better MPGs.

Now, I would go for the Zora over the ZR1 because putting the power down at triple digits is real, but not for the Z06.

TBH, this is not a comparison really, the C8 E-Ray is actually made for the roads that don't bother our neighbors when ur going out and has excellent mileage. On the other hand, the C8 Z06 is a pure road-legal track car for road junkiess or very fun people to flex some muscles.

Both insane cars but both are used for different purposes. The z06's strong points is the engine, the sound, and the visceral feel. The ERAY is the AWD, aftermarket support and 0-60 times.

If you can have both, that's the way to go. If you can only have 1, idk i will always choose the z06. Idk why but the C8 in general, is a boat. It's huge, wide, and feels big. When you're in a z06, it doesn't feel like that. When you're in an ERAY, yes i've been in one, just never lived with it, just feels like you're in a boat with a V8 lol.

I guess i'm biased. Because i bought the z06. I just like to drive. I don't want to cruise.

I think you should have drove a Ferrari 458 and listened to the soundtrack of that flat plane crank that's in the Z06, this might have changed your mind😮.

I see folks saying I can't go without the Z06 engine noise. Lets be real your not using that power everyday most of the time it will be parked! I would take the ERay real quick a very nice GT car and the whole body is painted super nasty!

ERay is a gimmic and a joke. Z06 is literally legend. You’re wrong.

E Ray is for daily driver (especially in bad weather) and drag strip. Z06 is for the track and the sound of that engine!

Everyone has their likes and dislikes. My husband has a C8 Z06 and I have an Eray. He keeps a set of earplugs in his car for me. I cannot stand the sound of that engine drone. It drives me absolutely crazy. Having said that, his car will GET IT down the highway....but you know what? So will mine! They are 2 different cars for 2 different purposes. For me: Eray ALL. DAY. LONG! I absolutely L😍VE my car!!!!!

This video is major cope. Between the two trims, the Z is what most people desire. It’s also the flagship Corvette trim level.

Car looks amazing. My local dealer stopped taking orders for the E Ray because their allocations were 4-5 years out.

There are more than two visual differences between the Z06 and E-ray. In addition to what you mentioned, the front fascia is different and the intake on the side is painted body color on the E-ray.

Why E-Ray ? I don’t even have to watch this video to tell you why . Flat plane crank sound sucks on 8 cylinders! It’s that simple. Now IMO when you get to 10 cylinders and over the sound is decent. You cannot compare the sound of a N/A push rod V-8 to anything. Now I’m just talking sound. But sound is imported to me

I was never interested in Corvettes as a kid. I wanted a Viper. I have a Viper now and I like it just fine but that Z06 engine got my attention. I waited 2 years to get one at MSRP and I love it! It’s the most exciting car I’ve owned. I traded a 992 Carrera S for the Z06 and have no regrets. Now the problem is, my dealer that sold the Z06 at sticker contacted me saying they have an E-Ray coming and wanted to know if I was interested. I was until the said it would be $50k over sticker…what is wrong with people?

There is no comparisons in both cars the 06 is a true hyperformance that car isn't for everyone it's getting power from 2 different places

You know I'm not a track guy and my build is generally 2LZ but I cannot decide which is my next Corvette. E-ray or Z06, love the sound but the AWD and carbon ceramic brakes on the E-ray more than make up for that. So I will leave it to destiny, because I have spots for allocations at a few dealerships. So which ever comes up first in my complete spec without constraints - 2LZ, Sebring Orange will decide whether my next Corvette is a Z06 or E-ray.

Great video, you support what I've thought from the day the E-ray was announced, It's the best of the C8 line. My TPW is 8/5. I'm an SCCA road racer and I think when a real race car driver gets to put some laps down in and E-Ray it will outshine the Z06 on a trach too.

Driving my GS on list for e-ray I've been on the list for two and a half years I'm still waiting it's ok !

I was interested in both E-Ray and Z06, and was fortunate enough to get the Z06. But even having and loving the Z06, I still tell people that the E-Ray would probably be the better car for most people. The Z06 is an "event" car, as in it's an event every single time you drive it, which is fine for a weekend car or track car, but isn't as good if you want to use it more frequently. The Z06 is STIFF, and it is LOUD all the time. Even in it's softest/quietest setting (Tour), it's way louder and stiffer than either a Z51 Stingray or an E-Ray. I'm absolutely happy that I was able to get one, but I really do think for a street car, the E-Ray is probably the better option.
