I first saw this as A child in the mid 70's. I KNEW it was about LSD and these guys were Using. The Byrds were the Coolest Band. That Southwest USA, L.A. mix of Mod and Cowboy style.

Likely a kinescope of a live broadcast. Very little videotape survives from that era, either because it was deliberately destroyed or degraded on the reel. It has that look of a filmed version of a screen. Thank goodness somebody somewhere preserved that.
