I Bought Fake AirPod Pros for $100 - Learn how to avoid them!

I still don't know if my is real or fake but the biggest pointers that showing my mine are fake is the similarity to the model name when I was comparing it to another fake airpod vid and my "cardboard" thingy in the box seemed to be plastic and the logo was also metallic like.

Took me about an hour to figure out the ones I bought were fake because when the case is closed with the earbuds inside the Find My feature wouldnt connect but once u open the case and send the sound alert it comes from the buds and nothing from the case whatsoever which lead me to believe they're fake even tho the guy provided me with an apple invoice which states they have AppleCare+ until 2026 so they are defo getting better at these fakes nowadays.

Thank you so much for the infor. I realized mine purchased from Ebay was fake after seeing this video. Fake products should be illegal so companies or individuals who are selling these should be charged.

i went to a really popular flea market here in texas bought a pair of replicas for $35, compared them to $130 airpods obviously the gen 2 airpods sound quality is better, so is the mic, but other than that for $35 they are good

It happened to me and I managed to returned them, but honestly the sound was so good even my hardcore apple fan boy who uses AirPod since years he wasn’t able to really determine if the one I bought is fake.

Is there a version of a fake airpods that has a working adaptive transparency mode? I bought it from someone and I’m not really sure if it’s legit, but the serial numbers ate good they all have unique serials that matches in the settings.

the apple coverage website says they cant find the date of purchase when i put in the serial number but could that be cause the airpods weren't directly purchased from an apple store but from a third party store intsead?

I got scammed by someone on “Offer Up” because I wasn’t even aware that selling fake apple products was a thing. It actually took me two days and going to the Apple Store in Raleigh about an hour and a half from where I live to find out that they were fakes and even the person (I couldn’t tell whether it was a man or woman) who helped me had to look up the serial number to realize it was a fake. It hurt me even more because I’m a disabled combat veteran who lives on a very fixed and pretty low income compared
To what I was making when I was able to work. Even though I’m “100% rated” by the VA that money isn’t as much as it should be or what I was making when I was working as a GM automotive technician before my back got too bad and they (the VA) realized I was in bad shape despite my age (nearly 40 years old which in the VA’s eyes is “young” to be fully disabled) so they increased my rating to 100% P&T which is essentially the highest you can get outside of some extras. Even at that rate losing the $120 HURT me financially and it PISSED ME OFF. I just bought another pair yesterday but I got them from Target this time so I won’t have this issue again. Great video!!!

Just finessed some for $35 and everything is adding up except for the charger paper the real had tabs in your video mine did not. But every other thing was spot on. And the box scans in Walmart app. Soo irdk main man who sold them too me was pretty cool too has them in bulk.

Bought some off Marketplace after checking the serial number against the coverage site and that didn’t raise any alarms or indicate they were fake. Got them home and now after this and Redskulls video the package tabs etc were a given they were fake. I also dropped one and it opened up like a dropped peach. Took it too the local Apple Store and sure enough, fake. The serial number had been presented 6 times to Apple as fake, but nothing on the coverage site. Buyer beware, by Apple from Apple and not someone’s unwanted raffle prize or present.

They got me for $88.00 via eBay a few months ago. The sounded great outta the box. However, shortly thereafter I needed to do an update and couldn't. The serial # revealed that the version I had wasn't able to be update for some strange reason that basically meant they were fakes. So, this past week I caught a new pair for $174.00 via the military which gives me comfort should I have any issues

Well, my parents got scammed.

I have been scammed the day before yesterday, it took me one day to figure it out that mine were fake cuz it was obvious since they didn't charge with my apple watch charger but worked with the magSafe charger that felt suspicious, along with the noise cancellation that never worked! Luckily the guy who sold them to me accept to refund today!

I got tricked as well. Just saw your review and guess we’re the same victims. I didn’t mind the fake, except for the fact that I bought the airpod pro 2 was to use it as a handsfree headset. When I used the fake ones during a call, none of my recipient could make word of what I was saying, as if I was under water. I didn’t understand what they all meant till I had someone call me using my fake AirPod pro… lesson learned for me 😔
