Should've added parent coaches.
On one hand, they'll find that their child is the star of the team and every point should be scored by them.
On the other, they'll find their children to be the most expendable member on the team because they won't have an angry parent to deal with if their child is pushed to go further and/or hurt.

My dad was the latter with youth indoor Soccer (think Hockey+Soccer) and I was the one who was tossed out when everyone out was too tired/hurt and there needed to be someone on the field for a switch. As long as I could walk/run and kick a ball I was alright to toss out again. He'd pull me back in once one of the other players had recovered enough to play and I'd promptly die on the bench.
I have this high pain tolerance when it comes to twisted and/or sprained ankles from those years.

Speaking as a scrawny non-athletic person, being pathetic and weak did not help me escape sports- from the age of four till the end of my thirteenth year on earth, sports was compulsory- countless hours of my life lost to pointless exercises I would never achieve anything in…!

Last saturday I was at a football game (I was playing with the school band) and it was the state game. The ref made a call that most people didn't like (if he didn't make the call, my school would have won the game.) and there was this lady screaming at the ref. Then I thought of this sketch.

As an actual hockey referee… this is kinda true… there are rules we flat out aren’t told. I’ve asked and haven’t gotten them.




To ruin the fun, I’m referring to period lengths and penalty lengths / if timeouts are allowed but STILL. (Youth hockey) me… the referee… the one you’re paying to be here… should be told this stuff.
