8 Tips for Creating Vertical Videos

I need to film three people. (a host with two guests) How would you tackle this? I tried it with a gimbal but needed to go so far away, even with a 28mm to get them all in frame.

I'd like to stream on IG with my canon 600d but the res is so bad. Even If I do all of what you said !

Even If I link my cam with hdmi to OBS i still have to crop the image and I lose res then when It's time to stream I lose res again...

Great video! Can you recommend a lens for vertical video for canon r10? Would love to see a video on how the lens affects shooting vertical. I’ve noticed if it’s too wide it can distort the top and bottom.

Hi, There was advice to use 50 mm for vetical video. What if i have crop factor on camera 1.6x then its around 30-35 mm? And what you think is good aperture for video like this B-Roll. Thanks in advance.

No one should be creating vertical videos. Our horizontal field of view is much greater than our vertical FOV. Therefore, vertical videos make no sense for humans. They're only good for 14 year olds showing off on TikTok what an idiot they are. Creating vertical videos makes the creator look like a complete retard. Why do that to yourself?

Vertical videos, good to those who have one eye above the other, or don't know how to turn the phone 90º.
Gravity pulls everything to a horizontal plane that's where action happens. You'll have to continuous pan or take a very wide shot to frame the action.
Telephones are almost vertical devices cause the ears are above the mouth, but some people didn' notice it and are still missing the action using your camera as a phone.

I hoping to ask a question regarding vertical filming and final cut pro. I took some vertical video on a Sony A7 MKII I imported them into final cut and they came in horizontal.. Ant idea why that might be. is there a different way to bring them in to keep them vertical?
