Clickbait spoiler alert:
The robot DID NOT "FILL" an actual gap, it gathered data to fill an information gap. The robot did not change the environment. What a weird, confusing title.
Seriously SciShow? Either the title maker needs some training or something, or question why you feel clickbait is needed.

You can’t just assign all carbon emissions to the burning of fossil fuels, a very large portion of that carbon has been caused by the simple tilling of farm land for planting crops. And that carbon isn’t reclaimed by the carbon cycle. Some studies even show up to 90% of it stays in the atmosphere for decades.

Hey this is off topic and you're a super 😍 lady but when my skin looked like yours the answer was zinc. And the easiest way to wash my face with zinc is in the shower with anti dandruff shampoo. I know it sounds weird. But it works remarkably well. I've tried all the creams and nonsense too but nothing got my skin tone even and less break outs until I finally tried zinc. It's not perfect but it's better than awful makeup and was easy to add to my routine. Please please please do not take this as snark, more like a big sister sharing some skin care tips with a little sister.

As an academic researcher, the dynamics of phytoplankton blooms and the "marine blizzards" that follow are incredibly interesting and complex. There is some serious potential there for the ocean to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and potentially mitigate some of the worst outcomes of the climate crisis. The more we learn about our largest carbon reservoir, the better.

There is no climate crisis. It's a scam to take your money and autonomy. John Kerry says it will cost tens of trillions every year for 30 years to "fix" this. You realize he flies private jet to Davos and other conventions, right? He's a NIMBY-ist bullsh*tter, like all of them.

Dear SciShow: You must have misunderstood the research. Or maybe the researchers aren't thinking clearly. This research has next to no relevance to climate change. The carbon falling from the surface is organic matter, not CO2 dissolved into the sea water. While it is cool to figure out what happens to the organic matter falling to the sea floor, this research says nothing about the excess CO2 being dissolved into the oceans. Research into algae blooms is much more relevant to climate change....

Interesting. Do I get this right to assume this is potentially - with the usual caveats calling for more evidence - a negative feedback mechanism (i.e. rising marine snow levels in the wake of warming oceans)?

We don't often hear about these in coverage of climate change issues since the natural human attitude (quite possibly an evolutionary legacy) is to focus on threats, of course - i.e. on positive feedback loops that would make known problems worse.

So, what happens to all that carbon that falls in marine snow? Does it stay on the ocean floor for the most part or is it released back into the water and eventually into the atmosphere? I thought it turned into limestone in the form of calcium carbonate, but there is no mention of that in this video. That seems like a big omission and I am wondering why it was left out of the carbon cycle
