Great puns at the end. These videos are always so informative and enlightening.
ОтветитьI'm so glad Rose Bear Don't Walk has settled in and made a home for herself with SciShow- Such a clean and articulate voice. Remember them announcing her as a new host and the overwhelming support the community showed her. Y'all some good people :)
ОтветитьSo, what happens to all that carbon that falls in marine snow? Does it stay on the ocean floor for the most part or is it released back into the water and eventually into the atmosphere? I thought it turned into limestone in the form of calcium carbonate, but there is no mention of that in this video. That seems like a big omission and I am wondering why it was left out of the carbon cycle
ОтветитьThe deep ocean bed is truly fascinating to observe.
ОтветитьBlink twice if Kallie from eons is forcing you to make all those puns!
ОтветитьThis is so cool, Ty for the video:))
ОтветитьDid I miss when you explained what “benthic” means? An explanation would be helpful!
Very interesting video!
Great Vid. Thanks.
ОтветитьInteresting. Do I get this right to assume this is potentially - with the usual caveats calling for more evidence - a negative feedback mechanism (i.e. rising marine snow levels in the wake of warming oceans)?
We don't often hear about these in coverage of climate change issues since the natural human attitude (quite possibly an evolutionary legacy) is to focus on threats, of course - i.e. on positive feedback loops that would make known problems worse.
This Robot. Broca's area, or the Broca area is a region in the frontal lobe of the dominant hemisphere, usually the left, of the brain with functions linked to speech production.
ОтветитьI wonder when they will see a marine tornado during a snow blizzard…
ОтветитьI like its eyes
Such a polite young thing.
There's water at the bottom of the ocean
ОтветитьDear SciShow: You must have misunderstood the research. Or maybe the researchers aren't thinking clearly. This research has next to no relevance to climate change. The carbon falling from the surface is organic matter, not CO2 dissolved into the sea water. While it is cool to figure out what happens to the organic matter falling to the sea floor, this research says nothing about the excess CO2 being dissolved into the oceans. Research into algae blooms is much more relevant to climate change....
Ответитьgreat video
ОтветитьThis sci show video had so many puns I had to check if t was actually a minute earth video.
ОтветитьMake 7 Benthic Rovers for all of the seas; equip them with live streaming capabilities, and now you have the best movie ever.
ОтветитьNew Vlog from Dasha Taran now!
Ответитьyayay its Rose!!
ОтветитьThere is no climate crisis. It's a scam to take your money and autonomy. John Kerry says it will cost tens of trillions every year for 30 years to "fix" this. You realize he flies private jet to Davos and other conventions, right? He's a NIMBY-ist bullsh*tter, like all of them.
ОтветитьAs an academic researcher, the dynamics of phytoplankton blooms and the "marine blizzards" that follow are incredibly interesting and complex. There is some serious potential there for the ocean to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and potentially mitigate some of the worst outcomes of the climate crisis. The more we learn about our largest carbon reservoir, the better.
ОтветитьToo many puns near the end makes it hard to understand.
ОтветитьYes, yes, but why does it have a bullhorn on the front? Like, "Git outta my way you anglerfish."
ОтветитьWhat powers the Benthic Rover 2?
ОтветитьWow
So strange to see these puns outside the eons channel :)
And can we get more videos with Rose? Her eyes dynamic range is enormous!
It's infinitely more interesting to me what rovers in our own ocean help discover rather than rovers on Mars tbh
Ответитьclimate crisis?? manbearpig?... is called nature
ОтветитьCool video, but please don't fall into the political trap by calling it a "climate crisis." SciShow should be better than that
ОтветитьHey this is off topic and you're a super 😍 lady but when my skin looked like yours the answer was zinc. And the easiest way to wash my face with zinc is in the shower with anti dandruff shampoo. I know it sounds weird. But it works remarkably well. I've tried all the creams and nonsense too but nothing got my skin tone even and less break outs until I finally tried zinc. It's not perfect but it's better than awful makeup and was easy to add to my routine. Please please please do not take this as snark, more like a big sister sharing some skin care tips with a little sister.
ОтветитьHoly cow there's marine snow flakes then at a Bernie Sanders rally.
Ответитьx1.25 squad, report in!
ОтветитьEewww that diagram showing bent CO2 molecules.... Gross!
ОтветитьSo basically when I had salp carcasses in my swimsuit I had marine blizzards to thank 😖
ОтветитьAre there ideal locations for iron seeding where carbon would remain sequestered where it falls rather than being reused by the bottom feeding biosphere?
Ответитьwho wrote those jokes?
ОтветитьI love geeking out with scishow and i heart mbari forever thank you for this vid 🤩🤩🤩
ОтветитьUh. Human made exploration vehicule disappears in the depths of the ocean. Sounds like the start of a horror movie to me ... Even Black Panther just had a similar thing happen in it ...
Ответить😕 ƤRO𝓂O𝕤ᗰ
ОтветитьCan the benthic rover 2 be nicknamed Nunu because all its missing is the proboscis and it would look just like the Teletubbies robot vacuum thing
Ответить"Climate Crisis". Pure BS.
ОтветитьGlobal warming propaganda.
ОтветитьYour mic or the recording of it is hissing guys
ОтветитьThis blew my mind like 6 times in seriously about a min.
ОтветитьYou can’t just assign all carbon emissions to the burning of fossil fuels, a very large portion of that carbon has been caused by the simple tilling of farm land for planting crops. And that carbon isn’t reclaimed by the carbon cycle. Some studies even show up to 90% of it stays in the atmosphere for decades.
ОтветитьOmg!!!! My high school science teacher worked on this rover!!!!!
ОтветитьClickbait spoiler alert:
The robot DID NOT "FILL" an actual gap, it gathered data to fill an information gap. The robot did not change the environment. What a weird, confusing title.
Seriously SciShow? Either the title maker needs some training or something, or question why you feel clickbait is needed.
