What an inspiring video Thomas. I grew up here in Somerset with no folk tradition as such and as a grandmother I am doing my very best too bring something too the table for all our children and grandchildren. I hope like your grandmother I am can do that. It’s fascinating and wonderful world !
ОтветитьFascinating!
Thank you Thomas.
" Beware the fury of the patient man"
ОтветитьMy mum could cure warts. If someone had a wart she'd give them 50p,rub the sliced side of a potato on the wart and then bury it in the garden.Warts(which had been there for months, sometimes years) would be gone in 2 to 3 weeks.I never saw it fail.
ОтветитьThe famine was caused by peasants cursing each other!!!!??
That's pathetic. Totally pathetic.
The Black Church (St Marys) is on the list of "scariest places in the world for kids". Lol...
ОтветитьThis was really interesting. Please do something about the harp tradition in Ireland.

ОтветитьIn Scotland some people refer to fairies as “the Guid Folk”, out of fear and respect for them and not to get on their bad side. Great video Thomas, thanks. Take care.
ОтветитьBrilliant summation, Thomas.
ОтветитьYA FUKIN EGIT ? LOL
ОтветитьThomas once again THANKYOU 🤗 from an Irish Gal in Canada you will LOVE NFLD
ОтветитьWhat a brilliant video thank you Thomas I really enjoyed that and am glad to say finished that video with a smile and a feeling of something good that the Irish magical tradition is alive and well and brilliant insight as to why the cursing left Ireland after the famine it's something that would never have crossed my mind so cheers I just wanted to say that when explaining to people that Ireland and western Scotland is basically the same thing as I found out with my researches that the area of Western Scotland called Argylle is basically "our gael" cause those people were the gaels which also ties in to the iberian connection which is mostly northern iberian which is a very green hilly lands like Wales and that area is called galicia once again gael icia I'm sure you know that too well but I just thought it was quite good way to say it thanks mate
ОтветитьIrish way, irish law all you foreign bastards need to leave ireland and go the fuck back to your own countries
ОтветитьMy mother remembers her grandparents. Gr-grandpa played the fiddle, sang and danced. She loved them. Because she had never been around such joy. i'm thinking they may be 1st generation migrants from Ireland. After the made their transition the family fell apart. Uncles - one was a sheriff and the other moonshiner. Mom is a Mother.
ОтветитьThank you for this segment. I would like to hear a detailed piece on the benandanti. Also the Irish tradition of hospitality "waystations".... ""well-farers". Travellers of the "wells"?
ОтветитьSomeone I know, their great grandfather used to keep his hair and nail cuttings and dispose of them in secret to ensure nobody could curse him. This was rural Limerick in the 40's.
ОтветитьAlways so interesting, cheers Thomas...didn't think the Irish invented Scotland so to speak, always thought they had a symbiotic relationship with each other using England as a buffer against invading Europeans...
ОтветитьFirst - I am very jealous of that storm! Second - could you do a video at some point about breaking generational curses?
ОтветитьAre the Leanan sídhe know to have multiple colors in their iris, like concentric circles of colors in both eyes?
ОтветитьThanks for clearing up the confusion regarding the English fay.
ОтветитьI lived in Galway for the first 22 years of my life and never saw a bird like that.
ОтветитьThis was absolute gold, I can't describe how much inspiration your channel provides in regards to my writing.
ОтветитьCan someone be a positive Sidhe but if their summoner starts abusing her, she destroys him?
ОтветитьI'd love to read a book on Irish magickal tradition and history written by you. I don't know much about it but I couldn't imagine a better person to write it.
Ответитьhey scotland wasn't invented by the irish, we scottish gaels invented ireland. gave them harps bagpipes and the book of kells, and our gaelic(cape breton is mine) is much closer to medieval irsih than youse guys who stayed on the wrong side of the water.
but the sidhe are not friends, you got that. my saintly grey haired grannie had a millions little gaelic incantations to placate the sidhe from making your bread not rise or asking them not make the new washed clothes give rashes to the kids, etc etc.. i never heard her ask them for help. it was all placating them not to make mischief. a funny one was she stuffed socks into a ball but inside out because she thought that would confuse the sidhe and when they got in their they'd be confused and not get out all night and hence not make trouble.
there are still some newfoundland faierie traditions as well. and the caelleach(the hag).
when i was a child old ladies still went to the rural crossroads and danced at midnight on lughnassadh
Great information. I continue to learn each time I watch one of your videos Mr. Sheridan. Thank you for your hard work.
ОтветитьWe don't have holy water in my church so we use baptismal water the same way one would use holy water
ОтветитьThere was a giant pig entity that occupied the Amityville home in NY.
ОтветитьDon’t know how I missed this before but the timing is always anointed. You cleared up the mystery of how and a bit of why both sides of my family’s cursing one of another. Another piece of the puzzle- a corner bit. Thanks 🍁
ОтветитьA very good book ! The fairy faith of the Celtic peoples!
ОтветитьNeed to keep away from the leanan Sídhe, irish musician here 🤣🤣
ОтветитьColic cure is awesome
ОтветитьWhat do you think about the Rh- factor = fae, sidhe theory?
ОтветитьDo you know anyone who cures arthritis
ОтветитьVery surprised you didn't mention the Pisheogs Thomas, Irish black magic 101.
ОтветитьI wish that my Irish Mother had lived to see you online. She was a perfect Catholic until just before she passed. Her last words were, "This God (Catholic God) stuff is bullshit." Her last words at the edge of eternity...how brave!! Love ya Thomas. You are the true soul of Ireland.
ОтветитьBog life

ОтветитьWow. Thank you from a 96 year old Irish woman’s daughter. You have helped me understand.
ОтветитьThat’s very interesting about the water tradition. I have collected water from holy wells for years to use when doing house blessings and on my Altar when doing healing for people.
Ответитьplease tell me you have a video on the Cat Sidhe?!!?? and im wondering if it has a connection to wormwood/absinthe? such a great video!
ОтветитьI have never seen one, i litterly fall head over heals over anything the displays the smallest hit of style. I swear is the next best thing and the only. And then i go and hide so i can go and think about them.
