We Miss Dissidia

Opera Omnia was amazing. It was the only gacha game that truly hooked me. I miss it so much. Even at the endcycle with the easy fights due to the Force Gauge system, I still had fun.

You know what I wish they'd do? A Dissidia Musou. I think the format of the genre is perfect for Dissidia. Hacking and slashing through hordes of Manikins and boss characters, but with the nuances of the Dissidia fighting system (BRV attacks, HP attacks, etc). Add online co-op (no PvP) and use the models from NT and I'd play that forever.

The music arrangements just for this title left me speechless... i really wish they would have saved at least SOME of these assets... They took All the Bravest, Chaos Rings, FFBE, Mobius, First Soldier, FFRK Global, KHUX/Dark Road, and Dissidia Opera Omnia... please stop taking away my favourite games...

Just as I said on their video too, just earlier, kinda of funny I get recommended both videos in the same night, lol, but yeah.:

For dffoo I enjoyed the force time mechanics and figuring out if I could finish a fight in one or if I needed to go for multiple and figuring out ways to force my favorite characters into my comp. For a gacha game dffoo was also very generous, there isn't another gacha game out there that is as generous and I doubt there ever will be. Now that I've said my piece I shall let go. I just want a proper Dissidia sequel so so bad. One along the lines of the 1st and 2nd games. Bring back a proper story mode, focus on the fanservice(character interactions, more locations, maybe skits like in Tales or Conversations like in Fire Emblem, character shops manned by NPCs from other games,) Instead of 3v3, maybe choose 3 characters that you can switch between mid battle. Bring back the traversable world or maybe even just locations or a hub world.

Just expand on what Duodecim is instead of fixing what isnt broken. Or at the very least release Opera Omnia as an offline game we can buy. Hell I'll take an Opera Omnia sequel at this point.

Warrior Of Light deserve gis own remake series with added some new detail that will confrim revealing his real name....too bad they didn't so it.

Dissidia.... a game I will never see the light of day again. I played the PSP for a total of 1800+ hrs. I never let that game go for years. When Opera Omnia came out, I didn't hesitate to get into it like I did all those years ago. When NT came out, I didn't have a PS4, and I couldn't afford one. I WANTED SO BADLY to compete online. But I never got to. When PC version came out, I was lucky to finally play it but the multiplayer scene was dead even to this day. I was devastated. I never caught the online scene. Today, I now got a PS5, I plugged in a copy of Dissidia and subbed on PS Plus to try for online multiplay. Alas, it's also dead. All the matches I queued in to were also all CPUs so... yeah. Now that Dissidia is gone, it's become difficult to love gaming as a whole again.

I want NT so I can fight alongside and against you all again 😮 1000h total on psp was wonderful as well

Dissidia NT should have had 1v1 options at launch

I always wondered if I would like playing NT more with a group. Always struggled to find anyone playing in general, but I would be open to trying again. I played Yuna, but I'm probably not great 😂 So I guess if people decide that they want to play, I would be open to trying again, I'll just apologize in advance for being bad 😂

dffoo still was hands down the best gacha game I've ever played. I miss it

i still go back to NT to do an arcade run sometimes or playing the originals on psp emulators, it's such a shame the series had to end the way it did

i never had the full games for dissidia but playing the demos on psp for them got me to give final fantasy as a series a try and ff4,6, and 7 are some of my fav games ever now and i probably wouldn't have tried them at least not for much longer if it weren't for that

I own the games, still play them, very sporadically though. I never completed NT as I felt something was amiss with the game. I'd go back and play it now, from the beginning, to remember it, but no one to play the game with. As for Opera Omnia .. played the game from day one up until the End of Service... I miss it terribly, but, I agree with what you said, especially the power creep.

Would I like to see a remaster of Dissidia or Duodecim, of course I would! Would I like to see a version of Opera Omnia come back... Hard to say right now.

Dissidia left a very good impression on me too. And strangely, Duodecim even helped me when I was facing some bad depression. It had just the amount of what I needed to get my mind distracted, and partly because of that (but also cause I loved it), I played the game hundreds of hours without even playing against other players. Yeah, I'm the kinda guy who doesn't enjoy PvP.
For these reasons, I tried and loved Opera Omnia too. Just like the original games, fanservice was everywhere, and dealt very nicely. It was just what I wanted.
I played around 100h to NT also, but again, only with a friend against AI. That's how much I hate PvP. Lol. The game left a bitter fond memory because of what it could have been.

Like many others, I'm really hoping for a new Dissidia somewhere, but with the old experience. All in all, I miss the game, and I would gladly pay some money for a full game. Gacha and DLC would be better without, but let's be honest, it won't happen, so I'd enjoy it if, at least, it wasn't a gacha.

I remember the times i played on dissidia i miss it too 😢. I am a competitive player andi love playing with and against other players so i was sooo excited for NT. But once i realised how slow and clunky the characters were it kinda broke my heart... I was a fan of ultimecia but in NT others just needed to walk to dodge my projectiles...
Also i said others because i actualy never played against any other player in NT. It also took forever in the queue to find a match and it always was with AND against AIs. Not playing against anyone, climbing the ranks felt so useless so i lost interest in the game. What a shame. All i wanted was playibg ultimecia with that beautiful model... 😢

Dissidia could easily be the magnum opus in all of Final Fantasy. But I would do a proper JRPG, no Beatemup.

I purchased the original Dissidia and shortly after, my PSP broke. 😭 Never could play it again, but I might try an emulator of it. HUGE fan of Opera Omnia, and I sincerely hope we see a return of it in some form. Turn based Dissidia is just chef's kiss for me personally.

I loved Dissidia NT, but Opera Omnia messed up Final Fantasy lore. I am glad that it is gone. It made me boycott Enix.

Haven't played it in a couple years but I look back fondly to Duodecim.
Duodecim Remaster would be the dream, Add Online Matchmaking to it and it would be even better.

I was thinking about Clive Rosfield should be here in Dissidia Final Fantasy for once again!

Controversial take, but I think Dissidia NT is an underrated gem. I think it’s a misunderstood game. It has its flaws, but so does any other Final Fantasy game, including the original Dissidia.

I remember when nt was about to release i got called an idiot for being sceptical about the lack of customization and it looks like i was right in the end

dissidia and dissidia duodecim and dissidia opera omnia are really good. Too bad the player base for opera is so trash that that game died way too fast. Oh well

i bought NT and i hated it i cant even play the dam story without grinding 14$ went into the drain

i miss dissidia so much as an RPG lover who only played them solo. that's the power of the original PSP games—they could be appreciate as a final fantasy / rpg fan and as a fighting game fan. insane that they never just. made another one.

I saw Dissidia on the title, I immediately clicked.

Me and my friend played the story but for VS we'd download hacked saves for all items and moves unlocked so it would be fair.

It's all we played aside from yugioh. We'd play yugioh until we were tired of it and then pop in dissidia. We played original and duodecim. What's funny is he found out about it and described it to me as a final fantasy fighting game.

I didn't get the appeal. I brushed it off until I got the game in my hand and was able to control Squall and use his moves with the ff8 music... I was hooked. I didn't even own a psp but I had to get one.

I stayed on the dissidia forums, asking for strategies and fishing for as much info as I possibly could. The only thing lacking for the game now that I had obtained more knowledge than needed to have fun with playing with just one or two friends: An online mode.

I used the ps3 to play on adhoc party. Just a total of maybe 5 or 6 matches is all I ever played. I actually faired very good but there's an inherent lag using adhoc party. Maining ExDeath/Vaan/Jecht/Ultimecia Sometimes using Squall to scratch my nostalgia itch.

I just wish they'd do duodecim with Quality of Life upgrades, graphics upgrades, online, and roster updates.

I'm currently going through the 000 mode of duodecim for the first time and I've grown so attached to WOL as he's the one who's been carrying through all the hard fights (and Terra to a lesser extent).

a PC Dissidia Moba game would absolutely slam right now

In dissidia 1i leveled every single character to 100 and unlocked about half of those characters final gear, with SSS class accessories attached to most of those even further.

There will never be another game like it, and many of us will keep chasing this impossible high until we all crumble to dust in the same manner.

For me it was the perfect I Can Only Have One Game purchase. It could not physically have been a better buy and it is without a doubt the best title the platform ever offered.
Thanks for making this so I can see that time hasn't forgotten with other similarly minded people.

I'm rather certain Dissidia 012 will come back before FF7R Part 3 comes out as Cloud's story in Dissidia is directly connected to Crisis Core's ending where Cloud goes out to find out why he has his Buster Sword. The Final Fantasy Magic: the Gathering set will also help increase interest in the game by itself as it's basically it's cardboard version. If they haven't mentioned anything, that usually means they're planning something with it.

My best memories are with the psp games, i still have magazines with psp games reviews and upcoming games, and dissidia are my favs since the two psp games open the franchise to a lot of people, like no one knew what warrior of light was and, and its funny cause most of the games had a remake on the psp, or nintendo ds, so everyone could play the clasics from 1 up to 6 with out problem, and 7, 8 and 9 via emulation.
But the memories are so livid in my mind that i can still fell the psp in my hands, hear the music and spend hours playing every single character, duodecim for me is the special edition of og dissidia, love every single minute i spend in that game, and i really like the nt trailers, and the dlcs, but with opera omnia, man that game change me till today, i met amazing persons and communities, a lot of content creators that i still go and watch old opera omnia videos, even one of my most precious memories is winning in the very last stream of the game, i miss the streams too, hope joshua and kristal are doing good, but yeah that game was fun, easy to be f2p, but sadly good things dont last forever, still im gratefully that i was able to enoy that game, till the last day with tears and smiles in my face, im gratefull for everything and i hope to see a new dissidia of any type.
Since that game is an anniversary develop so it was made with a lot of love.

Duodecim is the only game im sure i had over 1000hrs in. Man i still emulate it now, it was way ahead of its time. Oprera Omnia was so good i miss it too

You can tell a lot of love went into the PSP Dissidia games.

Final Fantasy needs more fighting games.
