Why was this superb cover not a bigger hit in the uk pop charts is anyone's guess. I got ready and bought this single in 1987. 😢 . I wish there was a whole album of Carol Hitchcocks we can get hold off. Thank you for your contribution too pop music 🎶 ❤🎉❤ xxx

Oh god, I used to have a good laugh over this song.
Around 1988 where I worked in Cheltenham Vic one of the owners sons starting working there. He was about 6 ft 3, quite slim and bald. He looked a bit like Carol and I used to crack up uncontrollably whenever this song came on the radio we had in the factory.
He wasn't impressed.
It's a shame Carol only had the one hit because she definitely had good vocal ability.

Hmmmm.....I was a teenager in the 80's, but I have never heard of this song or Carol and I'm Australian.

Stock, Aitken & Waterman were great producers of Hi-NRG music

Although also a Hi-NRG number with the same production, it lacks the hooks that made 'Venus', You Spin Me Round' and even 'You Think You're a Man' hits.

I can remember exactly where I was when I first heard this song: Uncle Charlie's on Greenwich Ave in Manhattan circa September 1987. Electric!

Guaranteed to get me on the floor in Rockshots Leeds , still think Carol Hitchcock!s version is the greatest cover ever of this Motown Classic .
