This includes over 14,000 EVs from its sub-brands. Despite not outselling Tesla in Q1 2024, BYD is on track to potentially surpass Tesla in Q2 with expected sales over 400,000 units. All-electric car sales reached 134,465, marking a 29% rise, while plug-in hybrids saw a more significant boost, with 177,583 units sold, up 69%. International sales set a new record at 41,011 units, a 177% growth, highlighting BYD's focus on expanding its global footprint. Year-to-date, BYD has sold over 936,000 passenger plug-in cars, a 24% increase over the previous year. The Song family led sales with 80,860 units, mainly plug-in hybrids, representing a 126% jump. The Qin sedan followed with 51,170 units, and the entry-level Seagull model saw 34,832 sales.
