✅ Just a reminder for when you’re writing expressions... you want to write any variable terms first and constant terms go last. If there are multiple terms that involve variables, they should go in order from greatest to least as far as exponents. If any exponents are the same, go in abc order. For example, #4, we have a variable of c and a variable of d. They both don’t have an exponent written, so they go in abc order (remember, if no exponent is written, there is an understood exponent of 1).
✅ For #4, we can also think through the distributive property by distributing the -8 to to the -c, which gives us 8c. Then, we can bring down the subtraction sign. Next, we can distribute the -8 to the d. That gives us -8d. So we end up with 8c - (-8d). Now 8c - (-8d) is correct, but remember, subtracting a negative is the same as adding a positive, We can change subtraction to adding the opposite, so we can rewrite this as 8c + 8d. We can rewrite the subtraction of a negative as adding a positive in order to get rid of the double sign (this cleans up the expression and makes it a little simpler). So you can see, we get 8c + 8d that way as well. To recap, 8c - (-8d) is correct and equivalent to 8c + 8d, we can just rewrite that double sign as one. Subtracting a negative is the same as adding a positive.
✅ Thanks so much for watching! ✌✌✌
Thanks

ОтветитьNow i understand
ОтветитьI love the lessons on this channel. It would be an extra awesome gem if we were provided a word problem example of the last solution in each of these modules.
ОтветитьI’m only in 5th grade, but I’m taking a test for math pre algebra test 7th grade, and the teachers take days for me to understand but this guy over here, ONLY NEED 5 MINUTES
ОтветитьOk but how did he get 9x after combining 18x and 9x in the second question wait actually never mind I realized that we have to divide them together
ОтветитьConfusing
ОтветитьThe fact he explained this in 7 minutes and my teacher explained it in 30 minutes 😅😂😊
ОтветитьThank you for helping me!
ОтветитьThanks so much man I can now be smarter than my friends aka 5th graders and I’m Asian so I love advanced math

Ответитьthx idk why I didnt understand these lol
ОтветитьThanks Mr J, you are a wealth of knowledge and you know how to brought across the subject matter. I am well on my way to tackle factoring and polynomials.
ОтветитьI spent hours after being given this lesson by my teacher practicing again and again and just couldn't get it. I don't blame the teacher because how she gave it is how she learned it. But after only 1 lesson here with Mr. J and only 4 examples, I GOT IT!!! Thank you, a million times.
