For future builds do not use chicken wire for bottom of beds. They do not stand up to water and being buried. They will eventually rust and break apart, animals can easily tear through it. Which defeats the purpose as to why you should secure the bottom. Instead use hardware cloth. More expensive, but it’ll outlast your garden.

Dave, I really enjoyed your video. Thank you. Here in the UK I need to protect my plants a little differently from you because we don't have as many animals (Critters) as you have only cats or squirrels that can acces my boundary fence & certain flying insects, some beneficial, some not. Planting in late winter and early spring is the time where I would use polythene overhead protection for my early planted vegetables; after the temperature warms up I can replace polythene with netting. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

Great that you gave your advice on things that you will change for next years cropl As for the Tall height, I would just cut out the one section of the chicken wire where you need the height and shape new chicken wire to the "Mountain Height and restaple. Do you have the plans for those beds?…I'm in the process of making a cover and your hinges covers look like the kind I need.

Chicken wire on the bottom will fail after a couple years. It rusts and gofers will chew through it eventually. It's better to put 1/2 inch hardware cloth.

I would love to have more specific instructions for building the raised bed cages. I am also having trouble with critters, specifically with rabbits, groundhogs and squirrels and I recently had two fox run through my yard. I don’t have much experience building things, have built a simple raised bed, but the cage is out of my league with just watching your video and winging it. Also, my main two beds are made of galvanized steel, so the hinges would be a problem, but I would be willing to lift it off and on if it protected my veggies.

What can I use for table top?

How do you open the cages over the fully grown tomatoes

The doors sounds like a winner. I have bugs in Texas. I only get 1 or 2 zucchini but I have something for them this year. I'm covering my plants.
