I have done kimchi 4 times - the first time it came out very very good, but the other 3 times, it went bad after several days / weeks - depending, and from the beginning it did not taste well. Not sure where I went wrong but my kimchi did not came out good at all. Maybe i did not use enough salt or sugar, not sure.

What would the howajar be called in a store. At our store I know there fish sauce red chili flakes rice flour Napa cabbage ginger but I don't think there's the radish or howajar can I still make it with all the other ingredients

I just found your video! 💜💜💜💜💜💜🇨🇱 I really like all kinds of kimchi, but I've been a bit intimidated by the recipes. You made this so easy to follow, and now I'm on my way to get 50 heads of 6 pound napa cabbage! 😁 Just kidding! Maybe two.... I love Kimchi, I have only had the store bought kind and living in the city it was easy to find, since moving back home to Wales it is so much hard to come by, I've no Korean stores around me but I am determined to try and make my own and I can't wait, I'm super intimidated but super excited. Thank you so much for your kindness and creating this tutorial, I promise to try and do it proud.

I soooo want to try kimchi, but I will be the only one in the house that would even touch it!!! Is there a place to buy it already made & if so, what brand would you recommend??? I loved watching this video, I love making pickles, beets and processing tomatoes to make salsa and other things, so it was awesome to see you make your kimchi!!! Thank you for sharing!!!🙏😁💞

I also notice on your ingredient list you have mentioned Honey , Plum Extract and Truvia. Can I substitute honey for truvia? You have added only artificial sweetener. Please clarify…

1. I don’t use Flour since I am gluten free.. rice powder is good but how do you use rice powder to add to Kimchi?
2. Can you recommend a Kimchi storage that is not made with plastic??

I'm glad I found you, this is the best looking kimchi, I've seen!
I just bought half gallon jars of pickling jars,I have made mango pickles and bitter melon pickle with red onion and tomatoes, separately😁, I'm thinking also making kimchi, all I have never made before, I can't eat any meat, so have to make something for my rice, I can eat rice alone, but I need other things.
Thank you so very dearly, tomorrow going to hunt those ingredients, I always have fish sauce, I love those Brand, today also cooked half of the bitter melon,onion,garlic, ginger and lots of tomatoes with fish sauce! ☮️💟

the best kimchi ive ever had was in busan, it was from an extremely nice fisherman that shared a meal with me on the docks. he told me it was aged for 4 months. it was called winter kimchi.

I live in a country with no access to Korean markets or specialty ingredients, but I really want to try Kimchi. Do you think it would taste okay (I know it won't taste authentic) with regular long radishes and hot red pepper flakes (We also have a red pepper powder that's native to my region that is really really spicy) and normal white cabbage?

My mother can't make kimchi. Her mother forbade her to learn anything Korean (although she still made kimchi and buried it in the back yard). My grandmother fled from the Korean war with her hastily selected boyfriend-to-be-husband. After that, she tried to stamp out her heritage. oddly enough, and much to the disdain of our husbands... we love kimchi.

I saw you stored yours in plastic containers. So this is ok to do? I don't need to buy glass jars? Does the fermenting kimchi need air? Someone said that while it ferments keep the lid loose so it doesn't explode...

love making Kimchi its such a pitty you have to eat so loud and smacking your lip noise. find it so horrible and yet you are the best so far ….wont watch other vids incase you start eating . shame but its my problem i cant bear the sound .
