You must not play alot of games if you consider cyber punk a gta clone.
ОтветитьThe Goodfather I, II and Watch Dogs I are cool games, but Sleeping Dogs is a masterpiece!
Ответить"Mafia 2 is a GTA clone because it has a minimap and you can paint your car"

I think in my own opinion "GTA Knock Offs" aren't being popularized anymore due to the fact gaming devs gotten lazy. They aren't willing to put in the crunch to create massive worlds anymore compared to linear straight to the point open environments gaming...it's less crunch with a smaller open environments versus creating hours on hours content in a massive world. Also....some people are worn out with broken upon release...glitchy & long boring storylines ...After the disastrous release of "Cyberpunk 2077" on the PS4 & the laughable "GTA Definitive Edition"....companies are rethinking the whole "Lets Release Games Broken.... We'll Just Fix It With Day Patches"....That's not gonna fly with us anymore.....

ОтветитьThey can't compete I guess, they should still try though

ОтветитьLol i thought this was a re upload for about 3.5% of a second there but damm you're right about the comments section BOY OHHH BOY!!!
ОтветитьMafia and GTA are actually both owned by Take-Two. Mafia is doing quite well, with a new game coming out next year (though I question the decision to release it the same year as GTA VI). Take-Two is really monopolizing the AAA open world crime genre, huh?
ОтветитьI’m starting to realize that I’m older than most of the GTA community. I’m 35 and have been playing the GTA series since the release of GTA 3. Saints Row 2 is my favorite GTA “clone’ and I still play it today!
ОтветитьThe industry is too weak to even try, instead they're kissing R*'s ass. Which is hilarious considering even R* themselves can't even make a real GTA game anymore
ОтветитьMy theory on why we didn't get more games in the GTA genre is twofold: First up by now these games are very complex and massive, therefore they are hard to make. Devs don't want to even take a shot at it because Rockstar set the bar extremely high.
Secondly GTA really got popular in the PS2 era where games were simpler. However any game trying to establish itself in the same genre was called a "GTA-Clone", and since clones are genetic copies it was never a nice term, even if meant as a descriptor instead of a copycat accusation.
So a lot of dev teams were discouraged from continuing to make titles in this style while Rockstar got more experience with every game they made, which is again why they are untouchable right now.

ОтветитьIn my opinion that GTA clones ( at least some of them ) failed was purely on gta's community . The Moment saints row coming out everyone would immediately say that is a gta clone and no one should buy it, thus not achieving that much of a popularity. Not only that , it's difficult for even a AAA studio to make a game like rockstar makes , which even to this day it baffles me a lot that there is ONLY one company in the industry that can make a top notch game with details , graphics , maybe story but mostly world building in the open world crime genre.
Then you have the indie devs which now you see a huge rise on them but they are lacking the equipment on it and even the budget to run such a huge project. I really hope soon or after a " Gta Clone " comes out and gives us some competition. That's what we need for rockstar to actually listen to us instead of being greedy over us and ruining some of their old games and even not reaching their limits which in my opinion, they can easily reach something beautiful to make even with a small team but they just either rush it or somewhere mess it up . Not to mention the community should stop this stupid mindset of gta clones , it doesn't make sense cause you wouldn't call battlefield a COD clone , it just 2 completely different games but yet in the same genre .
Calling Cyberpunk a GTA clone is an insult to it imo, it's very much its own thing
ОтветитьGodfather, Godfather 2, Saints Row 3, Mafia 3 and True Crime New York City are my absolute favorites 👌 but to be honest, I'm glad the clone era is over. its time for Rockstar to step it up and show why they were worth cloning in the first place 🕵 GTA5 left a lot to be desired. GTA6 needs to be Legendary 🙌
Ответитьi am expecting 171 to come this year, well hope so
ОтветитьLego city undercover is my favorite gta clone
ОтветитьCyberpunk may not necessarily be a gta clone but we all wanted it to be the next gta replacement. This is at least 50% of why this game was so hyped up.
Ответитьdisrespecting ganster vegas like that 😭
Ответитьen france , on apellait ça des "gta like "(et des "doom like" pour les fps)

Can you make a next video? Where are all the Racing Clones go?
Why are all the army clones go? For example. Call of duty World at war. Metal of Honor.
This was a nice video it was quite informative of games out there, However, I will Forever see the Word "GTA Clone" as a moronic word to use, since it basically meaning its a Copy of something which invalidates the Effort and Time Devs put into it a product like Crime Sandbox Games out there That you listed.
But to answer your question could be disappointing since the reason why there aren't enough crime sandbox games like saints row and Godfather, Scarface, Etc... is because there isn't a real need for games like that anymore. The people who needed games like that already got Grand Theft Auto 6 which is coming out within few months noted to be a Big game if I was a Developer I would either wait for Grand Theft auto 6 to release so I don't make a game that would suck to that game and Lose a lot of money since MAKING An game like Grand Theft Auto or any large Scale Crime Sandbox Games would be costly and risky it better off to just make an FPS or a Racing game at that point at least I would have a higher chance of sells then to go up against a Mega Giant Game company like Rockstar and Take2... as well their community.
Also, Rockstar went through a lot of Controversial problems so some devs may want to play safe [Even though it COULD boost Sells]
The only person who would make anything of that sort would have to be PASSIONATE about the Crime Sandbox Games Genre that they are making, but how can they be THAT if it is just going to be called "GTA Clone"? We lost Saints Row and a few other games because of this silly slang, and it is sadly and it only used by The Video Gamers space, not anywhere else.
ayo what about sleeping dogs.....literally the best gta clone ever made...in my opinion
ОтветитьThe Gangstar games on the Nokia are actually pretty fun, I know that not everyone agrees but that's just my opinion
ОтветитьI haven't really played GTA but I've played it's clones. I would love to make one.
ОтветитьSaints Row 1 and 2 along with Destroy All Humans 1 and 2 managed to seperate themselves from GTA with thier edgy humour and unique features the grounded gameplay also worked to balance the seriousness of the story and the silliness of the gameplay
ОтветитьI honestly like Saints Row 1+2 and Sleeping Dogs more over some GTA games even Vice City and maybe San Andreas on how they age well for me. Vice City is popular game but personally don’t understand the appeal of the game.
If these gta clones remind me of gta this how I see them:
• Saints Row 2 = Vice City & San Andreas.
• Sleeping Dogs = bit of GTA 4 and more like Chinatown Wars.
• Saints Row 1 = San Andreas if set in mid 2000s.
Back in the day before most the competition threw in the towel, in french we used the term "GTA-like" to talk about that type of games.
ОтветитьDoes there excist a single "GTA clone" were we play as a criminal in modern times? I know of no one!
ОтветитьHow bout the game Bully?
Ответитьwhy people be so defensive?!1
ОтветитьYou forgot sleeping dogs. 😢
Ответитьwhere has anything GOOD gone?
ОтветитьI actually like the clone term. It does have a negative connotation to it, but it lets you know what kind of game it is. Like open world games, is it a GTA clone? or a Fallout clone? or a Far Cry clone? Those are very distinct type of open world games so you know what you are getting by what game they are "copying".
ОтветитьWatchdogs didnt come from Driver. If it did it's drivong wouldnt suck so much.
ОтветитьWe need Scarface 2 game
ОтветитьYou sold me on cyberpunk I love fallout
ОтветитьI’ve always called them sandbox games
ОтветитьWhat about sleeping dogs ?😢
Ответитьscarface is playable in first person on pc with mods i replayed the entire game in first person 4k 60 fps
ОтветитьHeh, I'll always associate the Scarface game with the arrogance and ignorance of the guy in charge of it. Like shitting on GTA while talking how their game is going to have the Scarface movie soundtrack, completely unaware that GTA III already used it.
Making games is hard and time and cost of investment since the last generation is pretty prohibitive especially as standards rise, not to mention the bar Rockstar set with GTA V and RDR. We saw so many GTA "inspired" games and the like in the sixth and to a lesser extent in the seventh generation because the investment risks were much lower compared to the eighth and current generation, especially in the fifth generation where selling a million copies was still viewed as a milestone and most games didn't need to sell that many copies to turn a profit. Now we have games with productions costs where if they don't sell 10 million copies within the release window a publisher runs the risk of ruin.
