Interesting, that you give it a quick shake! At my bar we only stir it. But I think the advantage is, that the glass looks more full if you shake it.

Im from brazil and have to admit that you nailed the drink and elevated it to another level with the addition of sugar syrup.
Because its supposed to be a cheap drink its common to se it being served here with only the sugar itself.

Your way to prepare is different, Im Brazilian (Caipirinha is a brazilian drink) and we dont use the cocktail shake. Also we make with whole lemon, not half. But is so cool to see another way to prepare, looks like so good too.
