Ooh portillos! No 2 layers of subfloor isn't normal... at least not in my experience -- Make you wonder if the 2nd layer was just to cover the rotting first layer which of course only helped for a little while if they didn't address the leaking toilet... Then again what IS normal is you almost always find weird stuff past owners have done when working on a previously owned house... Drywall... putting it on the wall is a piece of cake... but I hate taping and mudding all the gaps between panels. For the small patches you need to do, it probably won't be that bad, but a larger job can be a pain with all the mudding and sanding. It's not that much different from using body filler in a lot of ways.

Guessing you just threw that stick on junk down to get you by but when you go to put good flooring down I’d suggest tile or vinyl but if you’re going with linoleum flooring go with the roll out kind that’s one big sheet cut to fit then trimmed out. That stick on stuff won’t last and is more hassle than it’s worth

Restoring the hardwood floors was our first mod. Had to do house in sections. Get to the bedroom through window. Bathroom was next. Wife called and asked how much I loved her. She gutted the 1 bathroom we had. So it was a long weekend. As for the yard roomba, I love it. My neighbor has one. Got stolen once. But tracked it down quickly. Great video.

As for a home buying story. When I was 12 my family bought a church. After buying it they found out that it has squirrels. Im talking about a full bloodline of squirrels running under the floor, above the ceiling and through the walls. It appeared getting rid of squirrels is the worst thing to DIY besides plumbing. All they do is make more damage as they run and play inside the walls.

I'd look inside that vent right next to the toilet and see if there's more mold which needs cleaning up.
