Is This Ferrari Tractor Mowing Backwards a Game Changer?

Cool setup, but a Ventrac or Steiner will do 80-90% of what this will do for less than half the price.

Would love to see that with a snow blower!

Do they have a loader for this to move round bales of hay. This would be amazing for a ranch if they did.

Reminds me of a Harlo forklift I used to drive which was basically a backwards tractor.

We using those on carraro tractors for many years and it's even better now with hydraulic transmission.

Never realized they use different style of linkages (and other things like lighting) in North-America until I went to a tour in the JD factory in Mannheim with work. It was interesting to see both US and Euro versions next to each other on the assembly line.

could you put an offset motorised mower towed on the back to finish quicker . seen mowers that can be behind or extend to be offset or offset it by angling the drawbar .

I live in Spain and I have the 60 HP version of that tractor. Articulated and reversible, but no cab. It's the yellow version (pasquali=yellow, bcs=blue, ferrari=green, all the same thing).
Regarding the ball remains in implement thing, first notice. Yeah, maybe I've seen that system some day, but never actually seen it in real life, never used it.
I mean, maybe it's generalized in some places in europe, not here.
The reason for buying the reversible version, which was by the way about 2k euro more expensive (I'm talking about 2016 prices) was precisely for mowing. Mowing backwards is the correct way to do it, but neck pain is guaranteed after several hours backing up.
We are absolutelly happy with the decision of getting the reversible option. No doubt about it.

Check out the demonstration before you buy it, because most comes with some assembling, too bolts for one thing and a few missing for something else. Yeah!some assembling is required. Ain't nothing wrong with mowing in front or back, front mowing, if it ain't broke , don't try to fix it with mowing in the back . Back mowing, iffen it ain't broke , don't try to fix it, hey!!!?? Six of one and a half dozen of the other, either way, you know where your ( 6 ) is located and thats the main thing 😅

ABSOLUTELY! The mower should be in front of the power unit. Makes for a much cleaner job.

Oliver 50 and 55 series tractors used that same ball type lift arm couplers from 1960 to 1976. John Deere used them from the late 90’s to a few years ago.

From my experience, the hp rating is often more for size than power, those ferrari/bcs tractors are a serious machine, go play on some hills and you'll really see its ability.

That mower being reversible does that mean you could push it out front or pull it behind you in either direction? Like put it on the back of a conventional tractor but go backwards if that makes sense? Either way it did a real nice job mowing could probably keep up with a regular riding mower now. The tractor just looks funky to me def looks backwards haha It almost looks like it should have a set of forks on the front or back? No front , I think haha. Kind of like a forklift with the forks and lift setup taken off. That tractor seems really quiet for a 75hp tractor mowing. Ferrari was making tractors long before they made cars . I believe he had a transmission idea for Lamborghini or something and Lamborghini laughed at Ferrari and told them to stick to tractors and Ferrari basically said "watch this" .

I love it , have been cursing the mowers I've used to maintain pastures here for last 45 year. Nothing dumber than running the tires over the stuff before the mower can cut it. I've even tried going backward. Course that idea has it's problems but if you've let the pasture go to seed ....

I kinda wonder how the updated version of this tractor would stack up against a Antonio Carraro of a similar make. Further, the longer term reliability of both.

even though it may not be in the wheelhouse so to speak maybe a good look over a Antonio Carraro Tigrecar 5800 for the giggles of all, since I believe it looks like those have a 3 point mount off the back. If nothing else then to have a peek at a estate/farm/acreage transporter.

Went old school. I have an old alamo flail mower where you can do the same thing.

What do the blades look like on that mower?

Can you offset the mower to work around fence line? How replacing a belly mower with one?

Reversible tractor is cool, but I don't know why standard compact tractors don't just have category 1 hitches and PTO on both ends. Be great for snow blowers and mowers. None of this K connect nonsense

It's very pretty, I wanted one, but it's very expensive. On a slope it is better that it be rigid, the joint makes it easy to lift a wheel

My concer is how expensive is a Ferrari tractor. I doubt they are affordable for most people on a budget.

We bought a Gravel Commercial 430 (??) tractor in the early ‘70s that had a front mounted mower. There was a driveshaft from the PTO to the mower. The spindles had slip clutches. It was a beast of a mower… grass, weeds, brush up to an inch was no problem. Turning radius around trees was a weak point… I mow that same property now with a zero turn and it is far more maneuverable… but busted spindles have been a repeated problem!

What is do special about this? Versatile in Winnipeg built a hydrostatic tractor like this but larger called the bidirectional in the 1970s. New Holland had the TV 145 which was the newer version of the idea. Our small town uses a Ford/Versatile 9030 for mowing and snow removal.

We all need skidsteers, CTL's. I have both thise and a Tractor. Tractors are for farming. 40 years ago the "skid steer' CTL" was not advanced and tractors did everything. Now? Role reversal. Still tractors for Farming. Skid steer CTL for not Farming.

John Deere used the quick tach top link and telescopic pull arms. Hooking up the 3 bottom plow is a breeze because that you cant bugge.

That tractor would be perfect for mowing!! I’d like to see a slightly larger model. Is there a way to switch the seat, steering wheel, and pedals around and maybe use it with a loader? I’m sure that it’s not cheap either!
