你们的套路其实就和美国人上街拉路人问地图上的国家一样,把字写出来的人是不会被你们剪辑进去的,而且你专门问的是已经上班的人,为什么不挑小学生和初中生来问?你找个六年级立马就给你写出来

Mao wanted to switch to Pinyin but Stalin talked him out of it. Now, the Chinese have a blind spot about it. It would save a lot of time for young people and they could have more babies. Maybe learn to swim and play a sport.

This video has blown me away. I've grown up watching Asian movies in Chinese all my life. You see them writing all the time. Even In the cartoon Mulan you see her writing, I just figured it was a natural thing like it is in America. In America 90% of our communication is in our writing. We write things down all the time. We not only write things down in our notebooks like numbers for counting money and keeping books, to journaling hours a day. We write things down for businesses and recreational use. I would say I spend about an average of at least 2 hours a day writing things. Either on the computer or with a ball point pen. Then if you add my journaling and calligraphy on top of that I can spend up wards of 8 hours a day writing at any given day. To randomly go on the streets of China and ask people to write something for you and they can't do an adequate job is baffling to me. I agree 100% with the technology statement. People spend more time on their phones and computers anymore that it sucks up every second of their day. And like the other guy said its also generational. The younger generation doesn't see the point because they value technology over things as easy as writing. This is incredible. Its because technology writes the characters for them and if you don't study your own language your communications skills lack like the one girl said when she forgot the characters so she had to choose a different word. If you spent even 20 minutes a day studying letters and writing characters especially in school then it would help you in every day situations.

With no offense, i found interesting when the guy i assume from Taiwan answered these questions. The former one question is "do you think there's a difference between traditional character and simplified character". The guy said the traditional character is more than just a symbol but contains lots of cultural meaning(than simplified character), which i agree with him. But the point is!!! the guy finished his words with a mysterious smile!🤣 He then already has shown his preference through his expression. Later on, the question is "do you think that there are some people who can still write the traditional character". This time, he answered "i write traditional character better comparatively". This time he chose his words very carefully,🤣 all because the interview was taking in China.🤣

Knowing how to write chinese characters and how to read it are two different things. When I did my mothertongue exams in singapore they allowed us to bring approved e-dictionaries or paper-back dictionaries into the exam. Most of the time we would know how to write words that are frequently used every sentence like 我、的、和。Other than those words, we might find it hard to correctly write the word and hence the use of the approved dictionaries.

If Chinese have a hard time remembering simplified characters, you can imagine the struggles of Taiwanese and people using traditional characters.

这视频是棒子做的吧,为了证明棒子语言有多优越。这些字都是特意挑的,它们在日常生活中用的很少,笔画又多,确实一时半会写不出来。但你说中国人不会写字,你搞笑吧。国民不会写字怎么可能维持这么复杂的社会组织?

I learn Chinese by myself and I don't really pay attention to writing. I mean, I like to write in chinese, it helps me to memorize symbols visually. But I know that it wouldn't be useful. The fact is sad actually, but I can't really change anything. Even if I struggle with writing every symbol properly, I will lost the skill, cuz I don't need it.

it makes me think - how often do i write english -- and how bad my writing has become due to lack of practice and increasing short sightedness with age. i guess phonetic spelling is always a work around.... English is difficult cause of all the special cases since its a mish mash of other languages, though since i read a lot f translated xianxia and line in london i'm pretty tolerant to unusual useage ---- my sister who lives in non english speaking country has a very low tolerance to accents now, and forgets many english words.

This is ridiculous. Why is there 80,000 characters? And there's no way to infer what the meaning of each character is? Just by looking at the way it's drawn. Each character has its own unique meaning that you need to memorize to know there's 80,000 of it and you need 3000 to 5000 to learn the basic communication in China. Look at this video. Even the native speakers cannot actually like write their own language. This is ridiculous

Chinese people must be really smart because they can memorize thousands of characters.
Chinese people must be really dumb because who puts up memorizing thousands of characters?

(BTW, I'm Chinese American, went to nine years of Saturday morning Chinese school, and might be able to talk with a first grader in Mandarin.)

Well if people in China with simplified kanji find it hard, spare a thought for those in Taiwan and Hong Kong who use the traditional characters . Having had to learn kanji for Japanese and now Chinese, with the use of computers and other electronic devices to write,I find I can recognise kanji without being able to write them by hand. I think it must be the same for native Chinese and Japanese speakers. For example the kanji for police “警察” is the same in both languages. I can recognise but cannot write them.

While the. Japanese Roman letter system is well standardised and excellent, I find Pinyin difficult and confusing.
