I'm really glad you left the flagstone floor in place ..it's amazing on how flat it still was.

Thanks for this, Pal 🤗 It's fascinating, calming and envy engendering, all at the same time 😆I so wish I was as adept and capable as you... but I'm not 😞 DIY has come to stand for Don't Involve Yourself. What I am, however, is a great cook 😁 So if you say the word, I'll be there 🙌😉 Good luck with your future endeavors. I look forward to seeing them 👍
PS... Perhaps, eventually, you could enclose the kitchen? Make it weatherproof, thus making it useable all year round AND protecting your hard work from the elements 🤔

Marvelous job!
I love how you kept the antique, somewhat fractured stone floor in place, rather than replacing it with pristine (non-historic) flooring.
Sometimes the hard part about projects like yours is knowing when to quit, because your imagination is the limit, and you could continue building it up (i.e. adding an overhead trellis or arbour).
But in your case, once you complete the rest of the structure, some nice plants and perhaps an antique water fountain will provide the finishing touches.
You guests will be amazed!

How gratifying, good for you. To be able to stand and cook in the same spot as people did maybe 100 years ago, using exactly the same rocks, with such a nice view. Amazing.
