when did profit become a bad word. if dealers did not exist the manufacturer would never negotiate with you ever you would see MRP instead of MSRP. just walk into Tesla and haggle and watch what happens. old advice from old shady tactics that are no longer effective.

I think that this speaks volumes on how YOU treated customers. A customer showing interest wasn't ever a chance for me to charge more EVER, it meant that i could probably make a friend while making a sale especially if the vehicle is priced well

My dad has a dealership and does not charge interest, late fees, or third party lenders. If any issues arise he definitely addresses them without fees on fees on fees. Probably the last of his kind and is a rich man. He doesn’t even care to show off his money either. 65 soon and won’t ever retire. Humble and he’s been a success since 1985

I don't even trust car dealerships. They will tell you whatever you want to hear in order to sell you a car. And its not that they're bad people. Its that they want that commission. Save your money and get your car from a private seller. And don't even get me started on financing. Good luck. You'll end up paying 3-4k more than what the car is worth and the dealer will trick you into making you think you're getting a good deal. You only have to pay $150 a month. Riigghhtt, what he doesn't tell you is that you'll be paying that for the next 6 years, so by the time you do finish paying off the car, its not even close to the price that yu bought it at. And you paid more because you financed it. And God forbid you miss a payment. The repo man waiting right there to tow your shit. NEVER EVER EVER EVER in your life, finance a car through a dearship. You're better off taking uber and lyft to get you where you need to go.

Frig this s shit with dealers , I order a car online, put my options, it gives me a total, I send it to a dealer, I tell him I will pay this out the door. Take or leave it , I don’t even have to go to the dealership. Only to pickup the car and no see the manager.

Oh, go ahead and try explaining this to my clueless girlfriend. Over the past five years, every single time we’ve gone to buy a car, rent an apartment, or even purchase a house, despite me warning her in advance, she’s hit the salesperson with absolute gems like, "Wow! I love this car! I've just fell in love with this house! Oh my God! Look at this! I don’t even want to hear the price. Whatever it is, we’re getting this car, we’re renting this place. I don’t care about the rent." As you can imagine, thanks to these incredibly smart comments, I’d estimate she’s cost us at least an extra year’s salary for the average American🤦🏻‍♂️And, might I add, she makes barely a few bucks above minimum wage.🤷🏻‍♂️

The funny part is people come in to the dealership and all they want to talk about is monthly payment. People dont buy cars anymore the banks do.

Not all dealerships are created equal. It's unfortunate that all of them get a bad rap because of a population of then that we're crooked.

I’ve heard of dealers charging “market adjustments” AFTER THE PURCHASE when the person went to pick up THEIR CAR after the deal was done.
