Love this! ♥
ОтветитьSo glad to find your channel, Doc. Thank you for helping us.
Would you like to give us tips on how to focus when we were sick but we had to work on something?
Watching this whilst procrastinating 😂
ОтветитьI think I will look that later
ОтветитьThank you for making me realize to forgive myself ... I always judge myself about my unfinished projects
ОтветитьOne on hand I never finish what I start, which is why I suck at life.
On the other hand I am only still alive because I never finish my plans of burning charcoal in my car. 😂😂😂
"Everything is unfinished until it's finished"
ОтветитьI find it useful to have two levels of finished: ‘Just barely good enough’ and ‘perfect’. 😊
That way I still get some benefit from my projects long before they’re complete, and I can gradually improve them by an iterative process. I strongly suspect none of my projects will ever reach perfection, which means they’ll never truly be finished.
Glad I saw this when I did, I'm working on finishing up a music project that's been going on for about a year now and was feeling pretty down and overwhelmed by how long it's been taking. This really helped me reorient myself to think of the songs as standalone works that I have full intention of finishing, whenever that may be. Thanks Dr. K and HealthyGamer!
Ответитьwell that tip didn't work at all
ОтветитьI will watch this later😅
ОтветитьI cant even finish the video
ОтветитьThe thing is, I have deadlines 😭😭😭😭😭😭
ОтветитьFound GRRM's psychiatrist
ОтветитьI'm glad I'm already working ahead on this concept! I started learning blender two days ago and left a project after an hour of messing around, started SFM this morning and already have two unfinished (but will definitely continue them) projects!
ОтветитьI keep starting then I stop and start procastanating

Obsess Over Quality
📚 Starting to Read a Book
- Ignore pages 2-500
- Focus on reading page one
- Number of pages doesn't matter
🎯 Living in the Present
- Overwhelming feeling comes from focusing on the goal
- Avoid living in the future
- Motivation without goals
📝 Unfinished Projects
- Vatas have many unfinished projects
- Finish one project at a time
- Unfinished projects can be useful later
🗒 Value of Unfinished Projects
- Unfinished projects provide learning experiences
- Writing clarifies thoughts
- Unfinished projects have value even if unpublished
🏁 Finished vs Unfinished
- Everything is unfinished until it's finished
- Don't beat yourself up for unfinished projects

1. Get rid of your smartphone and buy a cheap phone to enable you to make and receive calls.
ОтветитьI have a table where I neatly lay out each project like items at a store. I see it everyday. 1 2 3 4 etc lay it out in real life… not somewhere on an electronic cloud
ОтветитьThank you, this was helpful 😊
ОтветитьWhy would somebody want to stop procrastinating?
ОтветитьJokes on you I’m procrastinating right now
Ответить2 thoughts on that:
1. Your whole life is unfinished! Because if it was ... you wouldn't be here anymore! Very often it's not about achieving a goal, it's about walking the path, being underway.
2. See unfinished projects as practice! You practice various skills, various interests, various mindsets and try them out. Finishing many of them would mean fast you'd become a onetrack specialist. You'd spend all your time and thoughts only in one direction... So maybe unfinish something isn't so bad either.
What i learned in this vidéo :
PART 1
> To finish a book, read page 1 without thinking about reading the 500 next pages
> The overwhelming parts comes from the goal
> Live in the present, not the future (Dont talk about goals)
>> Goals makes things harder sometimes
PART 2
> Keep half-finished projets until someone ask you to finish it later
> Every finished project that i have completed was unfinished at some point
> You don't need your projects to be finished to get value out of it
> You don't need your projects to be published to get value out of it
>> writing for me is the clarification of my thoughts which then are like accessible
> No need to finish a project when its not needed
> Finish the projects thats need to be finished
> You can learn from unfinished project
> You can finish the project later when its needed
> You dont need to finish a project just to finish
Did i forget something ?
Adding this my watch later
ОтветитьNot only have i procrastinated this video for 2 years, i procrastinated commenting about how i procrastinated this video for 2 years.
ОтветитьSo if we have people that WON'T buy into what you are saying that will CONTINUE to shame us for our "lack" of productivity, so what can we do ( ppl like parents0?
Thanks Dr K for all your great work:)))
But I have SCHOOL coming up so I need MORE consistency than I already have WELPPP
Ответитьsomewhat helpful my therapist says the same thing. if you want to do something do it. can't do it now? schedule or do it when you can. makes sense
ОтветитьSo to help with procrastination I should think about things as one step at a time?
ОтветитьEven when you die, youll still have stuff in your in box
ОтветитьThanks for this video. This took a lot of internal guilt I was feeling about unfinished novels and research papers, and helped put them aside.
ОтветитьI always feel better after listening to you, thank you
ОтветитьAaagghh! The editor cut away and didn't show the pile of notebooks!
ОтветитьThe 2 minute trick works for me. Just do it for 2 minutes. Every time i say I'll read it for 2 minutes........ it becomes 2 more, then 2 more, then 30.... then an hour flies by
ОтветитьThis is amazingly simple and after years of listening to Dr. K and many many other psychologists and mental guides, I am at the perfect place to understand it. I can't say I was 6 months ago, but learning more about coping mechanisms and what they point to in my life and parts work and so many other things, this just HITS. I highly recommend people watch this and save it to watch later again if it still feels uncomfy to digest. Heidi Priebe has great videos on healing from toxic shame or a shame-bound identity. For a more spiritual approach, Aaron Doughty is amazing for reframing thinking patterns brought in from childhood too. I don't mean to toot others' horns as well on HealthyGamergg's channel out of disrespect, because Dr. K has been SO key to my healing journey, but this trifecta of aforementioned teachers, (amongst many more I could recommend for CPSTD or belief -shifting) has really truly impacted my life and attitude so that even when changes have been SLOW af, I feel more embodied with whatever feelings arise and am able to give myself more grace for the pace I move forward at. 💗
ОтветитьHalf-completing various projects has given me skills to see others through to the end
ОтветитьYou either do or you don’t.
But a decision must be made because of the way we flow through time.
And the longer you don’t, the slower you progress effectively with time.
I saved this vid to “Watch Later”
Ответить“Group coaching for authors who hadn’t finished books” 😂
Ответитьmy girl: I didn't finish

me <an intellectual> : .......yet
This is a positive way to look at it. But what do you do with random writing and projects that are scattered throughout dozens of unlabelled notebooks?
ОтветитьThis video is super helpful. I recently tried a new productivity extension for my browser called Astirna, and it's nice to have everything in one place while I work on my projects.
ОтветитьThese tips are great. I started using a new tab extension that helps me manage my to-do lists and tasks better. It makes it easier to focus on finishing projects without the usual distractions.
ОтветитьI loved the insights shared here. By the way, I've started using Astirna for my new tabs, and it's been really helpful for organizing my tasks and keeping track of deadlines.
ОтветитьSuch practical advice in this video. Also, I recently downloaded a browser extension called Astirna that helps streamline my productivity. It’s worth checking out if you're looking to enhance your workflow.
ОтветитьNothing is ever finished.
