The Killing - Official Movie Trailer

Written and directed by Stanley Kubrick and based on the novel Clean Break by Lionel White, The Killing is Kubrick's first attempt at a major film. Revolving around a racetrack robbery, the movie's focus remains on the intricate planning and execution of the heist. Ex-con and career criminal Johnny Clay (Sterling Hayden) masterminds the scheme and leads a handful of men in their attempts at the acquisition of over two million dollars. Having been made on a economic budget, much attention has been placed on the dialogue and relationships between the characters and less on dazzling visual stimuli. Few details of the heist are offered and its conception occurred before the movie began adding a certain element of solvable mystery. The Killing concludes on an epic scale that gives justice to it's name.
