I think one of the main issues why Syria is hard to host is not the price or amount of people who have it.
Many people just do not have the hardware to run it. I personally had to upgrade pretty much every part of my PC to run it where as Caucasus worked just fine. I liked the map enough to do it and I have the financial position to do it but not all have same opportunity.
How have you guys taken account the performance demand of Syria compared to Caucasus when making the mission?
F-86 stats do not surprise me whatsoever. I fly both the 15 and Sabre regularly, and the 15bis requires way more skill to get way less done. At combat speeds it doesn't even have the trim authority to fly straight and level so you're jamming the stick into the panel and the nose is bouncing all over the place just trying to aim. Then you add that the guns have massive, infuriating dispersion while the Sabre's are laser accurate despite the sight being badly collimated. GAR-8's are free kills on Hinds which can't see behind themselves and insurance against anyone who runs. On top of that the Sabre is pushing mach 0.95 at sea level and 80% power, and can actually chase most planes on the server while the Mig is compressing and trying to bury itself at the same speed. The 15bis only has an out if an opponent gets baited into a slow turnfight while the Sabre controls the whole engagement from start to finish and forces the newer planes to fly outside their envelope. Add to that the fact that you generally have more experienced dogfighters in the outdated planes than the state of the art and the niche for the Sabre is well-realized. The only legitimate counter is an R3R on open ground, a 19 with a shit load of fuel to do vertical loops for 10 minutes and wear it down, or a magical FC3 fox 1 which it has no defense against and will hopefully be abolished soon anyways. A MiG-17F would be a better counter seeing as the Sabre we have is a super advanced, late production model with slats, while the 15bis is essentially a prewar dinosaur.
ОтветитьNot sure how I missed this survey but I did. How and where was it announced that this survey was up? I also haven't played on Enigma last month due to lack of time.
ОтветитьGlad to see you’re keeping the code monkeys in line 😂
No really it is an amazing achievement the server is so bug free, I’m sure everyone who plays appreciates the devs and that you’re all guided by the community feel-o-meter

ОтветитьI know it's super early, but could you elaborate a bit more on where you see the F-4 and F-1 fitting into the mix? I got a bit smoothbrained at the end when the discussion of the 3 periods came up (I'd include Flogger in the question but will ask again in 2-3 years when it's maybe released...maybe)
Ответитьwhish you will allow the A4e skyhawk
ОтветитьI do have fun all the time , but the biggest issue for me is the folks that cannot loose ....... like you kill them in their Cat ot A-10 and they despawn immediately so you get nothing ... happened so many times now :( I like to mow the grass as well in my migs but of cource the AWACS can call you out so you cant suprise anyone anymore . I know why its done , but bad for the low flyers
ОтветитьAbout "Impact on Server" -> It would be great to have a visualized way to see this. Maybe all 5-10min a .gif for 10-20sec top right corner. Because the impact of what you doing is there, especially losing aircraft's matters but mostly you can't see it.
ОтветитьF5's have shot down 804 Hinds. yet you seem to intimate that planes don't go after choppers much. I have no dog in this fight as i am too scared to play on the server, but from a rotor head perspective i can certainly see why red helo pilots might have a perception they get killed by blue planes a lot, cos they do. Three times more likely to be killed by an F5 than the ground targets they are going to kill.
ОтветитьBro this vid confirmed I was coping SO FUCKING HARD LMAOOO
