Thanks for your imaginative videos on the habitats we might call "home" sometime in the near future.
This concept is far less bleak than the near future that our media would have us expect - with eating bugs and living cramped inside telephone booth sized living modules, and no elbow room whatsoever.. No thanks.. THAT future seems absolutely horrific to me.
This bright, better future will require all of the automation that is currently putting everyone out of work - plus even more that we are on the cusp of building right now..
Imagine remote working from your own home, by operating a robotic drone in orbit, in space, doing its thing - probably welding or cutting..
You, as a mere human, would take over a shift from the previous drone operator (maybe from the other side of the planet) that has waning signal strength and needs to be relieved from the end of his morning workday shift.
The drone robot needs no shift change or holiday or cigarette break or anything.. It keeps working until it dies..
But you, on the other hand, pass your "stick" off to the next operator on the schedule, then go downstairs to finish doing your laundry..
Mining, refining and manufacturing done on the Lunar surface, then slingshot parts and panels to awaiting facilities in orbit.
Perhaps there will be space elevators used to close the distance, but probably not. Space elevators will probably be utilized for more delicate cargo - plants and people..
Solar powered slingshots would be much more time, resource and space efficient to move hard goods.
The only reason it's beyond our spaceflight capabilities, is because we (or some elected officials) decided not to do it.
They projected to quickly advance beyond the "Shuttle-C" cargo lifters to other post-Apollo boosters.
The projected cost until the first habitat is finished along with all the ground, launch, and in-space infrastructure was like many other large infrastructure or industrial projects.
The Interstate highway system for instance.
Much less than a small oil war or the bailouts we've seen.
Like our building of the "Ford" class CVNs along with their air wings and escorts and the logistics infrastructure to deploy them to fight over oil.
to do it would cost the same as block buster movie to build it
