What a helpful metaphor, thank you :)
ОтветитьPerfect!!!
ОтветитьI'll care for the climate as soon as being alive is affordable again.
Promise.
Exactly! Thank you! It's that simple!
ОтветитьThat's a very good metaphor
ОтветитьGreat way of illuminating the nature of the problem.
ОтветитьProgressing on from capitalism is the only way to plug all of those holes. Well, update all those buckets to better ones actually.
ОтветитьI care, but the age of hope is over. The age of justice has begun.
ОтветитьThe problem is: it might affect all of these other topics but it is not immediate enough. If I care about my family for example or wine there are other things to optimize or strive for that yield a more immediate reward or response. I agree that climate change affects all of these and might even be the largest “lever” long term but it is long term (or medium term) and also a little more complicated than other everyday things and people just don’t see that by default. But overall I totally agree. I just think it’s not done with this metaphor. And it can’t be put to everyone’s responsibility because it is not immediate enough that’s what governments are for and they should ideally give nudges and incentives to make it more immediate. In the end most people are greedy optimizers.
ОтветитьI think many of us know why but haven't figured how, at speed and scale! 🔥
ОтветитьDoes that mean industrial powerhouses are the toddlers running around with a drill, putting holes in our buckets?
ОтветитьNever thought of it that way, great point.
ОтветитьBe honest, in how many buckets did you ACTUALLY drill holes? 💚
ОтветитьSquirrel :)
