Deathmarks are realistically the most overpowered thing in the 40k universe. Stealth and range are VERY underrated

Death marks can easily take out a platoon of guardsmen….. yea so can about 90% of the galaxy.

This proves camping while sniping IRL or in gaming is a legit strategy and any who complains about is a giant woke man-baby.

A implant that is probably xenos tech that lets you learn from eating people good, but a crystal brain stick that would defeat all of chaos is bad.

Another thing to remember is that they are WRETCHEDLY annoying in Mechanicus and should be killed immediately by a tech priest with a power axe or dominus using high grade guns since they almost always have energy armor.

Deathmarks are also one of the few non-noble adjacent Necrons to retain higher “brain” function.
Were your Warriors, and Immortals have fleeting at best, to moderate “brain” function, a Death Mark has enough intelligence to make its own decision on best course of action, and sense of person.
This is due to the fact they have to operate outside of the range of an Overlords will.

Now: they are still BOUND to the Overlords will, but less so than even Lytchguard.

I like to imagine a guardsman just walking past whistling and seeing a deathmark on its way and just realizing its probably a good idea not to interrupt and just going about his day, because if he's seen it then its not there to kill him

taking out a small platoon of guardsman alone isn't really much of a feat. That's like the standard of "is it somewhat deadly?"

Don't forget about Lysicor, the self proclaimed Duke of Death, who killed the entirety of his tombs world nobles because he thought it would be amusing.

I never found a more scary foe to face in all of movies, shows, and video games to exist

To be fair to the necrons, most things in the galaxy don’t count as nobles so they can use these dudes all they want lol
