nanobots will be used as weapons,.to kill everyone of a certain race, or in a certain area, or for a set amount of time. they will be used for intrusive.surveillance and from weapons of mass destruction, down to individual assasinations. a nanobot is a biological entity in reality and so self reproduced nanobots could mutate and cause massive destruction. nuclear weapons are.nothing in comparison. nuclear.weapons require.massive resources and facilities which are impossible to hide, nanobot development would be very easy to hide physically. the ones who kill with nanobots cant be identified easily as a result, so the blame for their use will always via propaganda tools be hidden or assigned to others, ie the usual "terrorists" or "dictators" etc. if not the end of the human world, they will be a major component in the end of freedom

If you were immortal and looked like you were when you were 21 then you could live a million different lives, travel to distant planets without the worry of death. the mars trip wouldn't be a death sentence. I think those SRI micro robots are the coolest things ever. You know where I would love to see them develop those robots for self moving miniature ho and o scale people they could make them move around for your train sets. I think that would be really cool and they can do work around your train set for you. That's right adopt sri microbots technology to making miniature ant size people do you think that would be a awesome idea?

I also think robobees are really cool too and can't wait to see them. I wounder if they can really ever pollinate.

Of course these bots will be used for war and oppression of the people, as well as causing them to think "why do we need to worry about the bees when we got these things (that will only pollinate properly licensed crops of course, revocable at any time)".

Most of them are bigger than 1 cm, which makes most of them minirobots and not microrobots :/
