The back to target for longer feeling was a complete game changer for me. Golf was a miserable experience until I found this feeling!
ОтветитьHi Mark, great video..but I think adding how to release the club would really add to this video . I could follow your drills, but still drag my hands through and still end up with a slice .
ОтветитьNice baggy jeans.
ОтветитьWas that Coach trying to sneak back in in the background around 10 mins??? My favourite club was always my putter, because I feel like I can practice at home and lo and behold I do ok with it! My driver has now become my favourite because I have a 'feel' I can rely on. on very few occasions I've strokes gained vs tour player!! It was my worst club but practice and understanding has resolved it. I am now now focussing on my irons, losing around 5-6 shots a round strokes gained vs scratch while playing off 4 is more than frustrating. One questions Mark, my driver is pretty straight and long for an amateur, but my Mevo+ tells me my spin is around 3200... which is way too high, could technique be behind this or equipment or both? Your videos are excellent by the way, my game is way better because of your output.
ОтветитьCor used to love the old vlogs, bizarrely watching you making a coffee in ya new kitchen 😂 great video as always, thanks
ОтветитьI' ve followed you for years and enjoyed this video a lot. One of your best deliveries of good info !
ОтветитьIs it better to talk about knee cap position? If my feet are straight on, my knees are actually pointing inward, so my hips are completely locked, I need to flare out my feet a bit more than average so my knees are pointing straight on and more again on the front if I'm to have that knee pointing ahead of the ball. Not all bodies are created equal.
ОтветитьThe toilet clip secured the thumbs up for me! 🤣 Great video - going to put these tips into action.
Ответитьi tried the back to target for longer feel & it did feel strange but actually helped me launch the ball
It almost felt like it was going to end up in a mess but increased my chance of hitting a draw
My course has 4 dog leg rights so I can simply stand a little taller & grip a little weaker. this allows for a fade without thinking about it
draw has been difficult for me but its coming along. I have the MkI zx5 driver on the max closed position but may weaken this
like a justin thomas with the hands higher at top of the backswing
ОтветитьGreat video mate
ОтветитьNow, the release Mark!
ОтветитьGreat tips. All of these works for me to hit straighter and more consistent drives, especially trying to delay the rotation of the upper body. The video is new, but it is like a summary of god tips that I have gathered and tested.
Ответитьare we not concerned with the chicken wing? I feel like I always have to have my rear elbow attached to my body or else I lose control
ОтветитьWrist angles: Some assert that this will depend on stronger vs weaker grip. With stronger grip meaning that, at top of backswing, lead wrist might be somewhat more cupped, and weaker grip meaning lead wrist will be more neutral and perhaps bowed. Is this something you think about? Second -- because you don't mention it, I take it that on downswing the wrist angle works itself out on its own? (One of my issues is that I can have slight in-to-out swing path (1 or 2 degrees), but can't seem to find a way to close the driver clubface by impact (can be open by 5 degrees or more).) Thanks.
ОтветитьI never see your hands over shoulders so that step is not connecting. Maybe it’s camera angle, or your words not matching the movement.
Ответить"Keep facing away from the target as long as possible" this is some groundbreaking stuff here and flies in the face of everything I heard before about leading with your body and starting to turn early. Will try that for sure.
ОтветитьEasy golf swing! Just remember these 25 steps next time you tee up!
ОтветитьMark, excellent video! I have been in a rut with my driver lately and started moving the ball way far forward in my stance, forward pressing my hands at setup, and a bunch of other odd behaviors to try and fix it. Back on track now!
One question - do you recommend the bowing of the wrists during backswing for all clubs, or just the longer woods?
Mark
This is the best driver instruction video by a mile and the wrist angles and back to target drills are priceless. Shame you couldn't have produced it a couple of years ago as would have really helped me as I got back into golf.
@MarkCrossfield Thank you! Is it fair to assume that Tip #2 and #3 are valid across the bag?
Ответитьman i wish i watched this before going golfing last week
ОтветитьThanks for this video! Very informative and helpful and very well detailed! And I am going to use this and hopefully I can get better off the drive tee
Ответитьwhat does opening the front foot actually do for the swing?
ОтветитьNgl.. this is a good video 🎉 thanx ! 🏌🏾
ОтветитьI came up with a way to not slice, I crouch very low, and swing across, I don't like traditional golf teaching, I came up with better ways to hit a ball
ОтветитьInteresting tip to keep your back to target for longer. This seems at odds with the pros who seem to have their shoulders and chest wide open to target by the time they strike the ball? Whereas we need to keep closed for longer? Is it just different strokes for different folks or have I understood it wrong?
ОтветитьWhy is this different to any other set up
ОтветитьI mate iv got the callaway edge set, but I’m looking for a 3 hybrid do you recommend any? I’m new to golf
ОтветитьAny tips on distance to stand from ball with driver ?
ОтветитьNice 👍🏻
ОтветитьGreat video! Pretty damn funny too!
ОтветитьPractised at the toilet, missed left as usual....wife not happy!
ОтветитьBeen hitting the ball much straighter with your reminders which equaled better scoring. Thank for all you do!
ОтветитьI just finally started hitting my driver straight doing it absolutely none of the ways you mentioned. Now I need to change my slow and low. Damn it!!!
ОтветитьHere's a better method. Get a 3 wood shaft (43-44") and put it in your driver.
ОтветитьOh bollox
ОтветитьHey mark, I have that problem with straight lines after flaring foot/feet. How do you make sure hips and shoulders are pointing where you want?
ОтветитьPlenty of good advice here. Keeping the back to target creates the space to drop the club so enabling a path from inside , giving better strike and ball flight. Change 1 thing to better 3 or 4! A la Warren Bennett. Great stuff!!
ОтветитьMark , any drills or aids to make sure I get that back swing right I’m always going back to low and around the back ???😢
ОтветитьIt's easiest for me to think that my right hand is carrying a restaurant tray. 😂 weird, I know but it works
ОтветитьHow do you have the face of the driver? Do you have it turned in some or no? Also where are you lining up the driver with the ball? At the back heel of the driver, middle, or front end of the driver?
ОтветитьThank you for summing all the small details about driver.
ОтветитьBuild the backswing “Over trail shoulder” ? Over as in higher, or over as in lined up over?? Or both 🤷♂️
ОтветитьGreat video, definitely worth watching every now and then to make sure you haven’t got lazy in the set up , always good for a refresher
ОтветитьNever trust a man with a remote control golf bag
ОтветитьLots to unpack here. I’m working on these drills. I’m realizing I have to completely change my brain. I’ve been “pushing” the ball rather than dragging the ball through impact. My point of view is so different. Lots to work on. Thanks!!
Ответить@MarkCrossfield what you're describing at the top of the backswing, feels like its massively opening the face when I try it, as a a slicer, it feels very counterintuitive to do this as I'd have thoight it's more likely to encourage yet more slicing, or am i misreading that ?
ОтветитьWhat is the best club in your bag?
(It should be your driver!!!)
