Prices have made me unable to get excited about new tech. I just don’t care anymore. Time for a new hobby I guess.

The RTX 5090 will be 1.5 faster and weigh 1.5 heavier.

Considering Nvidias already notorious INSANE prices just got even worse somehow they don't have the right to sandbag early adopters like this just to try a double dip later with a "super" (guess "what it should've been to begin with" is just too long) and 170 SMs is still too cut down for like 2.5-3 GRAND which is going to be its real price ignoring MSRP as usual... Shouldn't be cut any lower than 180 SMs.

Things don't change with Nvidia, nothing is changing. All of these specs are already defined years ago. What changes is the leaks and the people spewing them.

Best part is I was looking to upgrade from 2080 to 4090, and spend close to 2,5k on one, guess i’ll rather wait for this 5090. I don’t give a shit if it’s 3k at this point. Does anyone have experience on how obtainable cards are when they come out?

At those prices the 7900xtx will do well until the 5070 comes out......I'm certainly thinking of it now. I won't spend more than a grand on a GPU.....and really even that's too much.

$1,299 for the 5080? surely not lol. Did they not learn their lesson from the 4080? considering how cut down the 5080 apears to be it would be an even bigger flop. It needs to be $999 at the most. As for the 5090, $2,000 is an extreme increase to an already expensive price. I can see then upping it to $1,699 but not $2,000. They might not have much competition but they still have to compete with common sense, and the 5080 has the 4090 to compete with in the second hand market.

I feel a bit like a sucker paying over $1000 for my Gigabyte RTX4080, for what it is.
I bought the 4080 with money I won so it was sort off free, but no way am I forking out this much again for a 50 series GPU too, it's a rip off.

Undervolt and underclock maybe will save it going down to 400-450W..however we would need titles to need it for, in vr 8k, otherwise it's a waste of power. For most non vr up to date 3090 will be just fine, or AMD stuff mid high end..

Prices for the 4090 seems totally wild. In Sweden the cost including VAT is from about $2100 to about $2700. Without VAT that's $1680 to $2160. This was just one webstore and they have 11 different models of 4090 cards in stock, and when writing this a the total is 103 cards,

So a $2000 price for the 5090 would look pretty cheap if we got it here, which we won't...
