With all the hills and valleys you guys have , why dont you dig a pit silo. Is that too old school? We used a pit silo for years and years. Worked out great.

Everyone has their job in the grand scheme of things. Ought to make good feed for the cattle through the fall, winter, and early spring.

Those loaded wagons put down more PSI on the pile than the tractors do! Great way to help pack the pile. And the care package to Dad is a nice thought . You have to keep him going!👍🤣🤣

What a beautiful farm! Rolling hills, tucked away in a canyon. Looks similar to the 300 acre ranch I grew up on in Northern California.
I reckon you can’t go too much higher on that pile without snagging that power line. Great video youngster.

Why would you chop 3rd cutting and not earlier cuttings? It seems like the finer material would make high quality bales.

Do you still have that ranchworx aerator that would certainly smack that pile of silage down quickly with lesser trips on the pile ????

I know, dairying is work but, I think our land & soil would better off with more of them. A sea of corn is unhealthy. Godspeed to you & yours!
