Today, I was working on free, creative sketching, combining watercolors and wax pens, aka crayons.
I was inspired by a book I remembered reading, "The Hidden Life of Trees," by Peter Wohleben, a German Forester. In the book, he explores the complex ecosystems and communication networks of trees with each other, other plants, animals, and especially Mycelia.
It was so inspiring and beautiful that it planted an idea for a mini-series of paintings in my head.
So, be prepared to see more about trees on my feed.
For this sketch, I also integrated a poem by an excellent German poet and artist, Peter T. Schulz—another Peter—which I translated into English here.
This signifies to me that life is a path, and we should not just focus on outcomes. The path is the goal.
