What a fantastic Idea Graham. That looks fantastic on a CRT! Must look great in the flesh. Look forward to hopefully meeting you at a Perth Usergroup Meetup :) Keep up the great work. :) Subbed!

A quick check to see if this is viable with the built in emulator accuracy is to run Uridium, if there is no tearing when scrolling during gameplay it's fine. I use a fast laptop with S-video ouput running VICE and I still got screen tear on scrolling (because WinVICE no longer does, and never really did, fully support accurate Vsync in Windows).

lol, i use a similar device the other way around. Connecting a real C64 to my monitor. For the price tag it's quite ok.

I wanted to see, if I was able yo get old joysticks running (all joysticks with CompetitionPro design gives me hand cramps). And yes. Using a Retro-Fun adaptor works with my 9pin sticks. The only thing I had to do, was to hold the stick down and hold fire down at the same time, when plugging it into a USB port. That is only one time, and it will switch from PC/Mac/Linux setting into TheC64-Mini-mode. To revert back, you do the same, just holding the stick up instead. I find it more useable for original feeling, than using CRT monitors. However a CRT experience is a great part of the overall experience. Real joysticks are just a tad more important for gaming as such. Perhaps we should buy a second TheC64, and mod the hell out of it. Like still have the USB and HDMI outputs, yet add as many old school outputs as possible.

Really enjoyed the video but where did you pick yours up from (I'm in Perth WA)? I've been waiting and waiting...

Ah nice, i am about to buy a TheC64 and wanted to find if there was a way to hook it up to my 1084 (replacing my old original C64, which sadly broke before christmas)

Hm, can you like post a list on what cables you used to do this? i got a HDMI2AV converter now and TheC64, but i cant for the life of me understand what sort of cable you need to hook the converter from RGB to the 1084-S monitor? some sort of RGB cable with two ends? gotta need some assistance here, and you seem to be the only one that did this.

Have you found anything that will allow the old style Dell LCD Computer monitors to run pal 64s ? A lot of videos only show NTSC machines . I've tried a converter with no luck.
