Ehh I guess…Panamanians identify with Colombia (most will say they really don’t) but they used to be part of Colombia and got their Independence by a revolution started with help of the US to build the Canal, you should definitely educate a bit more there’s more History that you don’t mention and I’ve never heard anyone call themselves “CANALEROS” I have a few Friends I will ask them..

I’m not super Panamanian, but my great-grandmother was born in Panamá while her American father was working on the canal. So anyways I went to Panamá when I was still learning Spanish, and they are so kind to Americans even when I mispronounce almost everything, but they did make sure that I knew how to pronounce “Panamá” correctly.
