The Rocketeer. Buffalo Bill. The dad from Boy Meets World. The lawyer from Jurassic Park. Horatio. Lol...pretty nice mix up of actors.

Mann had the 2 best shows, back to back on Fri night.

I can always watch every episode on VHS whenever I like! Yes, just like my records, albums and cassettes, I still have a few TV shows on VHS! Crime Story, SOAP & S.W.A.T.!! TAXI, Starsky and Hutch, the first two seasons, I have on DVD, along with The Boxed Set of The Three Stooges!

This pilot film was directed by Abel Ferrera. He directed the cult classics Ms.45 and Bad Lieutenant.

I am hoping that Mann remakes this series. I would love to see a two part movie or a mini series.

The most underrated show of its day.

Seems like a descent show but there’s some seriously bad acting/writing. That wreckless shootout in the department store was cringe and just when it couldn’t get any worse the elevator opens with the cigar smoking detective in the right spot at the right time. Cheesy as hell. I would hate to be that cliche character.

Wow, came across this hidden gem while searching for 90's true crime shows. Nothing beats the era of Unsolved Mysteries and how true crime docuseries were filmed back then.

For me, the movie Heat was Michael Mann taking Crime Story's pilot to the big screen. So many similarities.

I think I remember reading each episode cost almost a $1,000,,000 and given the relatively low ratings that was the kiss of death which is really too bad as it's one of Mann's finest works IMO.

I think the hospital scene has been edited, I think it was longer when I saw it on the original broadcast way back when.

Whoever did the music on this used an expensive list of songs to pay royalties on. This is a really well done series for TV. Dennis Farina kills it. He basically plays the same character in the movie Snatch, albeit as a diamond dealer instead of a cop

Like anything Michael Mann does, a masterpiece. Excellent show, for its realism and catching police drama.

This was shot and styled so well. Being the 80s, there was still easy access to 60s period correct things...cars ,furniture, buildings, streets, houses, etc... You could not shoot this as well today.

Very underrated show , I remember watching this show as a teen , it's a Shame it only lasted 1 season , one of my favorite 80s s show ,Michael Mann was a genius with these crime shows .
