besides Ackerman I would love to see more of our top coaches back coaching in SA.
the likes of Franco Smith, van Graan.
I'm sure they've learned a lot overseas and are paid well but surely we want these guys to coach here and not helping other country's clubs plot our downfall ?😂

Dobson is a good coach but he just can't reach the next level that the stormers can become

Dobson has a selection issue. Currie Cup he had to play the juniors to blood them for the URC in the event of an injury. Stormers don’t have the money like other unions. Just recovering from under administration. And don’t forget the amount of injuries this team had the past 2 years and the amount of players that left the Stormers this year to other unions and overseas.

This would be the best move...Dobson has run his race.

The stormers are insane if they want to continue with Dobson, yes he did win the URC and reached the final again the following season but that is in the past, at the moment and last season as well, the stormers started to decline dramatically. Dobson is not doing a good job with them currently and you can't keep pointing to someone's past glory and using that as an excuse why that person should stay on while that person is currently doing terrible at his team. There is also no way that the stormers will ever win the Champions cup with Dobson coaching them. Ackermann can save them.

The best option for the Stormers is last week's foe: Franco Smith. He won the URC on a shoestring playing outstanding all-court rugby. The Stormers have got the players to play this game. They don't have the management, which is why their no. 1 priority should be poaching Smith from Glasgows. I suspect they have already floated the possibility, but if not they should be looking for an appointment made at the end of the season to give Franco the time to bring a team to Kaapstad and set up the structures. He should then get a year to build up a head of steam.

It will be the best move Dobson needs to focus on director job and bring in Johan as head coach but will the players agree they all love Dobson. I THINK Stormers need a new scrum coach and a head coach that can bring in new ideas

Stormers allso need to to sign new loosies they are a bit thin there.

It's not Dobson. It's the letting go of key players' Bok inclusions and injuries. Senatla Roos Kitsoff Sacha Fourie Moerat Willimse and many more injuries then they let Dayimani go and others.

Love Dobson, but all the other SA teams have stepped up whilst the Stormers are in decay. With Willemse at flyhalf against Munster there was some backline spark, but otherwise they have been all flair and very little else. Wings constantly grubbering away possession isn’t something you see the other SA teams doing, this isn’t creative, it’s a problem.

I think Dobson is an great coach he must be like Jake you must perform or you out he must stop to bring in players form other provinces and forget about the youngsters in Capetown know all the front rows is injured in the past WP never buy players from other provinces he must believe in the younger players

is Johan Ackermann really an upgrade to Dobbo? yeah he went to 3 super rugby finals, but lost them all. spent couple of years at gloucester before moving to Japan. wouldn't say his stock went up during that time.

Ackerman brings his son with him. A great coach attracts great players.

The league is too competitive to be favouring players from certain schools rather than favouring the players skillset

Dobbo is a good coach. Come on. Our pack is poor. We have lost too many players and none of the looses can punch through the advantage line. The pack lacks physicality and bite. Sorry to say, this is what Dobson has had to work with.

Honestly...half the team won't make any other teams squad. Playing unstructured rugby can only take you so far. Time for change.

Ackerman and Dobbo working today is the best call imo

Western Province/Stormers a unique rugby region, where the rugby culture is ingrained in the kids from a young age. Retention of the correct rugby talent in the province that is the Springbok rugby factory is the main problem. We firstly need a director of rugby who understands this, then a world class coach, who reports to him.

The problem is Most every rugby player comes from the western Cape but they choose to go play in other provinces mainly because of more money the stormers lost so many world class players and the current stormers team don't play like a team they play for fame rugby is a team sport this current stormers are to full of themselves there coaching needs some hard stance

Best decision ever... Dobson crap coach.. Just had nosy of the gifted players... New coach new ways better team.

Stormers only did well because we had fantastic players.. Coaching was crap from the start... Coach looked good with urc wins because players were talented

Would love Akkers to coach us. Dobbo can run for mayor
