The winters are cold here but the spring, summer and fall make it worth it! Plus, there is nothing like curling up by the wood stove when it is negative numbers outside.
ОтветитьI LOVE MOFGA and the Common Ground Fair. I used to live in Maine and miss it so much. This makes me want to go back just for the fair! The owl is a Barred Owl. The T-shirt design each year is always highly anticipated, and not surprised they are collector’s items now. Mine are all worn out!
ОтветитьIf you're interested in fibercrafts, why not try growing a patch of flax in the garden and trying to process it into some home-grown yarn?
ОтветитьBarred owl.
ОтветитьYou are sorta in my neck of the woods, Delaware. Well, closer to me than when you are in California.
ОтветитьNice tour. We have family there and frequently talk about their high bush blueberries and bear that attack bird feeder and groundhog that tears up their lawn and power outages. Apparently they like it.
I’m surprised you didn’t go to Johnnys Seeds, Eliot Coleman Farm, Woodprairie potato farm or Fedco.
You’re allowed some organic fries since you had some apple/beet juice 😉. Lots of great things there…looks like you made some good purchases.
ОтветитьWow I really enjoyed this video, what a cool fair, thanks for taking us along.
ОтветитьThe winters in Maine aren’t as fierce as they used to be 20 - 30 years ago. No more chest-deep snow at Christmas, particularly along the coastal areas.
ОтветитьExcited to see you in Maine! Glad you enjoyed it here
ОтветитьThat spoon is a right hand only spoon! As a lefty I’m disappointed.
ОтветитьOH how I would love to go!
ОтветитьWell that just went on my bucket list. Do we have anything like that in California?
ОтветитьMy daughter went to this fair a few times on field trips with school. Really cool fair.
ОтветитьWhat a fun fair! I'll have to remember that if I'm up in Maine. I love that there is an entire fiber arts tent. As a spinner I love it when the spinning wheels get some love like that!
ОтветитьFrom central Illinois, we still disc the soil in fields and larger gardens and food plots for deer
ОтветитьCentral Illinois threshremans reunion always has cold water they give out for free, if you or the epic gardening team want a real experience visit pontiac Illinois during memorial day weekend to visit the threshermmans reunion. Shows old school blacksmith, tractors, and coal run saw mills, bandsaw, and threshing! How Americans separated grains and corn from stalks. I have grown up on this, but it is truly worth a documentary, plus a huge flea market/swap meet
ОтветитьWhat a fun time!! Thank you for bringing us along! You will have to visit the Baker Creek Fair in Missouri in May (I think) I would definitely come to meet you there!!
ОтветитьWelcome to Maine. I live in Millinocket, Maine. Love your channel.
ОтветитьWow wow wow! Loved the video so much 👍You have definitely given me a new vacation idea ☺️
ОтветитьI liked learning about Noah's company Bhoomi Devi Seeds.
When and where is the MOFGA Common Ground Fair held?
Thanks so much for sharing, that is a Barn Owl, we have them here in Santa Cruz and we have two wonderful apple trees. This is such an inspiring video!
ОтветитьSO FUN!!!
ОтветитьYay! I grew up going to that fair, and it's so cool to see how much it's grown. I moved from Maine to California, and have been eating up your Cali content. I LOVED seeing you so happy and excited in my old stomping grounds! Thanks for the Maine representation!
ОтветитьGreat to see you on a road trip. It looks like a great experience, and it was nice to hear from a local farmer.
Ответить😂 the Hobbit home is like a typical NYC apartment 😂 and the $4k would be the rent each month
ОтветитьI adore your outreach to other states and growing conditions! As a Mainer, I'm so happy that you got to experience Maine, and the lovely people. The winters aren't so bad, people help their neighbors. We'd get you through it!
ОтветитьSo how about a diy hobbit hole with a grass/wheat roof?
I’ve grown tromboncino, it’s quite prolific and even overwintered and started fruiting again. I think my climate might be a bit warmer than yours. (Southern Queensland Australia)
Oh my GOSH! I’m in love with that chicken tote bag, it’s freaking adorable!😭🖤🖤🖤
ОтветитьLoved this episode so much💚. Thank you for sharing.
ОтветитьOh so excited to see one of may favorite gardeners in Maine. I live in Maine and MOGFA is a huge good presence here..
ОтветитьOne of my favorite videos by you, by far! Looked like so much fun there, and now my boyfriend and I are semi planning a trip to Maine!
ОтветитьI live in FLA and would also love to move to Maine buttttttt when I see snow < its not good!
ОтветитьNext time you’re in Maine, stop by the botanical gardens in boothbay! It is gorgeous there
ОтветитьMainer here. The Common Ground rocks! It gets better every year. So glad to see this ❤
ОтветитьThanks for sharing Jacques... What a fantastic trip!!
ОтветитьI want to go next year, you made it seem so awesome! Great content. :)
ОтветитьFrom Mass and love Maine, glad you enjoyed it.
ОтветитьI Am from Nova Scotia reminds very much of home
ОтветитьReally enjoyed your visit. Thanks. you can sleep on the plane
ОтветитьI loved this video! I will have to visit that fair. It looks amazing.
ОтветитьJacques your channel just gets more and more delightful! I love this
ОтветитьSo @jacquesinthegarden I’m aware how Kevin from epicgarden got started into gardening, but what about You!?
If you have a video, could you post a link to said Jacques In The Garden origin video? Or if you don’t, could you make one?
Doesn’t have to be really long, I’m really impressed by your garden knowledge. Thanks.😊
Maine winters aren't what they used to be...maybe you could hack it? Gone are the winters of -30 F at noon...
ОтветитьWe Mainers, especially on the coast, do not have real winters any more. Very little snow, pretty droughty actually, rarely below freezing during the day on and on in the climate changed world. Feel free to switch coasts, you'll be ok. :)
ОтветитьJohnson-Su mycelium compost method. A married couple, both professors from a university in New Mexico have developed a superior compost method that uses Mycelium and not bacteria and has phenomenal results.Just Google "Johnson-Su" compost. Make sure you put the dash between the names.
ОтветитьThe Common Ground Fair really is such a special tradition. So happy to see you enjoy it as much as we do!
ОтветитьI’ve lived about 25 minutes from the common ground fair my whole life, I think I’ve only missed one or two of them! Such a wonderful fair with such wonderful and knowledgeable people ❤
We were lucky enough to be a part of the fair this year as well! If you come again next year we bring our goats and do milking demos all weekend long 🐐
Also our winters are becoming quite mild so moving up this way might be in your future?
