She’s a really great defense attorney. I have not read all the media coverage around this case. I really want to watch this trial as unbiased as possible. This is a very interesting and important case to cover. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens.

I disagree with the DP because it only causes more pain to the executed's family and friends. It costs tax payers more more money and a punishment harder to deal with is easier and less harmful to many innocent people.

It has nothing to do with him not wanting to die. He just doesn’t want to live on death row because it’s a different story than general population.

I actually really like Ann Taylor as a lawyer. She's definitely advocating for her client, guilty or not.

When you have the facts on your side, you argue the facts of the case. When you don’t have the facts on your side (gee because maybe your client is guilty) then you argue the law.

They’re spending so much time arguing the law, that it’s taking time away from their defense case at trial. They keep doing this then ask for a trial continuation- but then also out of the other side of their mouth, say their client’s speedy trial rights were taken away from him.

The mental gymnastics of it all!

I’m not convinced he is responsible for these crimes based on the circumstantial evidence. A deeper look into the circumstances surrounding this case that are not being discussed in mainstream news is concerning and it seems he’s being used as a patsy.

The State has the power to force a defendant to give up his right to speedy trial when the State withholds discovery. That sucks.

He's too stress by the thought of DP... i will say just try don't think about it. Because at the same time the victims families are going through stressful times, anxiety and so much more

Replay crew… I find it bizarre to be watching people discussing the method of executing someone in front of them and everyone seeming like this is a perfectly normal thing to do before they’ve even been found guilty of anything.
I can’t imagine mentally what that must do to a defendent who at this stage is presumed innocent.
I’m in the UK so don’t pretend to understand the complexities of the US legal system, but this discussion is just wow unbelievable.

IF he is found guilty and sentenced to death...it's laughable that his attorney is fighting that it's cruel because of what fear he may be feeling at the time...let's talk about the fear that his four victims were feeling when they had not been found guilty and were being stabbed.

It's ironic how Anne wants the DP stricken when she is only on this case because of the DP. Had the DP not been an option, they would have used a public defender from Latah and not her.

Disappointing to see how many presumed guilt. Innocent unless proven guilty, the DP is for monsters, we don't need to become that too.

I do not agree with this argument for removing the DP should be allowed because of the hanous act of these murderers. The victims did not have choice to live or die why should a murderer. BK is innocent until proven guilty. I hope Hippler keeps it.

Why doesn’t Idaho use two juries in a DP case like everyone else does? You use one jury for the trial, then if the verdict is guilty you use another jury to determine whether the sentence is LWOP or death.

I don't care how much you praise her I cannot stand her one little iota. She's disrespectful the judge already told her to move on and she continues to run her fat mouth. This is a testimony to why exactly we need to reform the legal system in this country! A system that does almost nothing but provide endless opportunities for any person with a license to practice law to waste YOUR money accomplishing absolutely nothing. Look at what they're doing! Spending thousands of dollars talking about the methodology used to kill a man who is sitting there INNOCENT under the law! Explain the rational for that Emily...

Edit: learning a lot from these motion hearings and how complicated running a DP trial is. Ann sure has her work cut out for her, but she is brilliant at being able to preserve her points for appeal! It will take a break from reality to say BK isn’t getting a fair trial, she’s covered everything so far. Not to speak of politics except to say that the new administration will not be as DP friendly so appeals won’t be as easy in this climate.
Edit 2: his aught to be abolished argument that needs to be legislature made and again this administration isn’t going to be amenable to these cases.
