At the 43 : 01 mark to 50 : 17 how Ida is being fake with Glenn leading him on and acting innocent is exactly how my ex wife acted . One day during work the Boss told me I could leave early but he'd pay me for full day. I go home and my wife didn't hear me open the door . I see her having sex with someone else. I left and called a lawyer and divorced her . True story.

Flashbacks are difficult to work properly in a movie but this one is an exception. Glenn Ford is very good as the anti-hero that you hope he survives in the end. This was like a western film noir, with Ida Lupino as the femme fatale. The present-day closure was satisfying too. An enjoyable film.

Glenn Ford was an A list actor during the Golden Age of Hollywood. Not his best movie, but still entertaining.

I read a story a few years back about a young man from New York that was a hotel bellman that saved money purposely to take a trip to this place.Supposedly he determined that he knew exactly where the lost treasure was ,unfortunately he went missing and a few months later they found his body.Recently a lawyer from Phoenix fell and died hiking through there also.When I was around 5/6 1970/71 we lived in Tucson for a short period of time,scorpions under every rock in our yard,tarantulas everywhere and to this day I cannot stand the sight of cactus.Good movie but don’t like Glen Ford in this one 👋🏼🍿

As I sit in the shadow of the Superstition Mountains, I remember one pointed fact about the Lost Dutchman, or Pegleg's Gold, or any of the other lost mine legends in the Southwest: There is no gold. The treasure's in the story.

Well if this is a B movie I like it and advise everyone to watch it: the fighting scene at the near end is marvellous...all on the edge of those terrifying rocks

I had a friend who was a millionaire living in Hawaii. He said he wished he had love like my wife and me but he couldn't trust any woman because they would want his money and live in paradise. I told him if he really wanted love to give up both. A year later, I asked a mutual friend how our friend was doing. He said our friend left paradise and his business but happily found love.

Man finding this movie was like finding gold; Edger Buchanan was great, Will Geer looks so young, Arthur Hunnicutt and of course, mr. Charisma, Glen Ford; what an all-star cast.......can't make em like this no more

So far this is not a factual account as the Dutchman was a feeble type who travelled alone. He met two men on the trail that he hired to take him to a certain point near weavers needle It was the last they seen of him so goes the legend
