It is number 3. Our human desires to care about finding others is not a useful trait. We have enough problems to solve on earth so we can continue to survive for another 100 years, which right now is looking doubtful.
ОтветитьThe best way to star ta video
ОтветитьAny technology sufficiently advanced would be indistinguishable from magic. Quote from Arthur C. Clark
Ответить#11 The Bible is true.
ОтветитьWhat if the mycelium network is actually an alien species that has been here for thousands of years feeding on the detritus of the forest.
ОтветитьAncient planets have already advanced and died off.
ОтветитьI'd prefer the option #3. If a civilization survives self-destruction, disasters and and manages to become sustainable before they run out of resources, it probably would opt in into an equivalent of transhumanism and then posthumanism. Maybe they discover the the quickest way to "what is -> what should be" is to reduce the "what should be" by getting rid of desires they can't fulfill. And it could eventually culminate the civilization programming or modifying itself out of existence.
ОтветитьJoe Scott love this video man.
ОтветитьCould it not be possible that other life forms are at the same stage as us? If they were then it would be very hard for us to detect them and we would not be able to detect us.
ОтветитьHere’s a thought. The digital age we are living in is no smarter than the Bronze Age, the Iron Age or the Stone Age. Here’s why: the digital age relates to mostly looking at screens. Why are screens so important? Yes the people around the world can all take to each other: through screens. So what? The digital age is pretty stupid. Screens aren’t that important, we just think they are.
ОтветитьPossibility 1: We have been visited long ago, Ancient Aliens & Mythology of our ancient cultures.
I don't know how to respond to your 2nd & 3rd Possibilities beyond what was already said.
Possibility 4: Yeah, it's possible we just aren't aware of how to identify alien civilizations or have bad timing.
Possibility 5: Whoever said the aliens would need to hide in other dimensions? They could easily just take the form of something common to this planet & you would never know. See Transformers disguising themselves as vehicles, or aliens living as any possible species on this planet even taking human form.
Possibility 6: I think you mean our governments & Men in Black keep the evidence hidden.
Possibility 7: Galactic Zoo or Nature Preserve would explain the insane amounts of biodiversity on our planet.
Possibility 8: Hiding from Space Conquerors & Predators seems unlikely as we likely would have been attacked by now
Possibility 9: Super Predator, I think the Anti-Spirals from Gurren Lagaan are probably the best equivalent to this.
Possibility 10: Yes, it is possible there are no aliens, although the concept of the Great Filter can also apply here with no Civilization being able to spread outside their star system simply from how the universe works with Speed of Light being unbreakable or it simply being the natural order of things for civilizations to collapse before they can reach a certain point.
Why isn't, government cover up, a part of the paradox?
ОтветитьWe are not alone. However, interstellar/intergalactic distances are far too vast for travel.
ОтветитьTHE LAST ONE!!!
GOD IS DREAMING SO, DON'T WAKE HIM UP!!
The answers are simple. The First possibility-(Answer #1) We are alone
and we are the only life in the entire universe/multiverse. (I'm sure
this hypothesis makes Bible-thumpers, narcissists who are threatened
with the idea that they we are not the only game in town, and people
with fragile egos very happy. Your Welcome!!) (Answer #2) We are not
alone and there is plenty of intelligent life in the universe, but this
intelligence in particular, is no better than human intelligence.
Unfortunately, our type of intelligence might be the pinnacle form of
intelligence in the entire universe. (That is a scary thought, maybe
even worse than the thought of us being alone!!)Thus, just like for
humans, interstellar travel is also too "hard" for all other lifeforms
as well. Just like with humans they also suffer from corrupt leadership,
and just like us they also don't have the collective will to overcome a
myriad of personality disorders that stifle advancement and will
eventually be their undoing. Furthermore, we have yet to figure out how
to travel anywhere close to a decent percentage of the speed of
light.(Not that the "powers that be" plan on putting necessary resources
towards cracking that code anytime soon.) So what makes anyone think
that any other human like intelligent species can pull off what us
humans probably never will? (Wishful thinking much? We are talking about
humans here! We can't even agree on global warming let alone invest in
the long term survival of our species!) (Answer #3) Super-intelligent
alien life does exist but they have not visited us yet. Why? Because we
are beneath them. If I was a super-intelligent alien I would not visit
us either because we are soooo basic. When is the last time you rolled
out the red carpet for the flies that infested your outdoor garbage can?
From the perspective of advanced life, we humans are just too basic.
They have seen our kind all over the universe many times before and they
are just not that impressed. (Answer #4) We are not alone, and the
universe is teaming with life! Unfortunately that life is nowhere near
as intelligent as humans are (Again, a very disturbing thought!!) The
vast majority of alien life is probably microbial, or in the best case
scenario, no more intelligent than dolphins, apes, crows, dogs, cats,
octopus, etc. If this is indeed the case, then that, in my opinion,
WOULD BE AWESOME!! Relatively dim-witted space creatures for the win!!
This would mean that human-like higher intelligence is soooo freaking
rare that we are literally the only beings who have it in the entire
universe. (That would be a sad commentary indeed!!) Too bad our
incompetent species will never get a chance to travel beyond our solar
system and see any of these cool relativity dim-witted space creatures
due to our species collective self destructive tendencies. :(
The South Park Pinewood Derby episode is a great example of why we haven't been visited yet
ОтветитьOr the Bible is true
ОтветитьI think it’s number 5. Just because of the crop circles they create. It’s their way of connecting with us, in 2 dimensions.
ОтветитьWhy would anyone want to meet us? We are a warrior race, bent on conquest. The only aliens who would contact us for our resources, like water.
ОтветитьWho’s to say life isn’t even more unlikely/miraculous than we can imagine, and we’re just first? I’d submit that to be the most likely answer.
ОтветитьThe reason we don’t find anything is because we look for radio signals and such nonsense. Why are we so stupid to assume that an advanced alien civilization would develop the same tech we did.
ОтветитьI am going to believe that there's an alien girlfriend living with me. Her name is Tabby.
ОтветитьSimple. The Drake equation is wrong. Very wrong.
ОтветитьThe Matrix
ОтветитьEnrico Fermi: Alieni... Se nell’universo ci sono almeno 100 miliardi di galassie, contenenti ciascuna fino a 1000 miliardi di stelle, allora dove sono tutti?
Aliens... If there are at least 100 billion galaxies in the universe, each containing up to 1000 billion stars, then where are they all?
ew why is younger you more charming? 😂😂
anyway, dudedudedudedudedude-
you fkn blew my mind w the whole ‘what if takes them a decade to say hello so all we hear is a bunch of noise’ bit cuz liek 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
yeaaaa maaann, WHAT IF
lol that ones gonna stay me a bit😂/😭
happy holidays to you and ur family!! 😊
This question completely ignores all of the evidence of earth being visited by UFOs over the entirety of human history
ОтветитьAlso, we make the assumption that intelligent species require technology visible from other star systems.
ОтветитьThe majority of human existence occurred before written language, but we were already intelligent. So let's not make the mistake of looking for civilization as being the same as looking for intelligence.
ОтветитьJust seeing this for the first time. Amazing you've been going like this for 7+ years! Love it 🙌
ОтветитьI haven't read any of the previous comments so I might be repeating but... maybe the Christians are right, we are uniquely created by god.
ОтветитьI know this is a old video. I was wondering if you could do one on the Illuminati. I have a Godson who believes everything he hears. And
ОтветитьAnd his Mom and his stepdad keep filling his head with bullshit. If you already did one let me know. Thanks so much.
ОтветитьWhy didn't ancient Romens see the native Americans?!?
ОтветитьLook how cute you used to be...lol.
ОтветитьHey. I’m as big a fan of this channel as the next guy. But I don’t hold a candle to who is watching this with their hands down their pants.
ОтветитьWow you wer really young
ОтветитьColonization assumes extreme fragmentation of a species (just sending a message to another colony could take over a lifetime). I can imagine that expanding territory could be manageable a few times over lightyears of distances, but that anything more grandiose than that would quickly seem like an unimaginably demanding, long, boring chore for an intelligent life form that, conceivably, will have found better things to do with their time by then.
ОтветитьOne thing I am always curious about is what happens to radio signals when they red shift? Best case scenario, how far can a 700mhz signal go before it redshifts to the point you can't tell it was ever a radio signal?
I sometimes feel our best chance of sending out an "Is anybody out there?" is to fire some kind of x-ray or gamma ray laser in pulses that increase to ten, pause, and repeat.
Got to this channel after Anton recommended it.. Wow you are so young in this
Ответить"If technically advanced life forms exist out there, why aren't they here?"
This question assumes that we know for sure that life forms actually exist somewhere that isn't on Earth and that just isn't the case. There is no evidence that any life outside of this planet exists and that's kind of the point. Then it assumes that if aliens do exist, we would be able to know that they exist and even that they would even be visiting our planet and there's no reason to assume either of those things. If aliens exist, that doesn't mean we would automatically be able to detect them or that they would ever know that we exist or have any interest in visiting this planet. Of all the planets to explore, why would Earth be so special as to stand out to any alien civilization? It is the height of human arrogance to believe that we are somehow significant in the vast expanse of the Universe. If Earth suddenly disappeared, the Universe would not even notice. That's how little we matter in the grand scheme.
Our greatest arrogance is our ignorance of our arrogance.
Dyson Spheres are so impractical that it's unbelievable how we began to look for amongst the stars in the first place. It wpuld take a very very very very very long time to build a structure around a star. Besides, where would all that matter come from if the star itself accounts for 97% +/- 1-2% mass of most systems.
ОтветитьWhat if they visited, decided to stay, something happened that wiped almost all of them and evidence of their existence out and we're their descendants, not as advanced, since knowledge has been lost.
ОтветитьI'm still laughing about Joe's imitation of the aliens meme dude.
ОтветитьI am starting to believe more and more that human beings are something akin to a bacteria that an intetgalactic federation uses to 'do away' with useless or dying planets/systems. And we're all alone because this galaxy has been discarded and is currently drifting away from all the cool stuff.
Ответитьmy personal favorite explanation is a combination of how specific life conditions we know it can be plus the vast size of the universe
Ответитьhave i really been watching him for 9 years
ОтветитьAncient video with bad audio, and I'm still watching it. Love your content. I'm trying to get through all of it. It'll take time.
