#nicaragua #walkingtour #travelvlog Walking tour of the Barrio of Villa Democracia in northern Sutiava, Leon, Nicaragua. This is a really interesting barrio that I found quite unexpected. It has some really nice housing mixed with rather a dramatic amount of people on the street warning me about dangers there.

A "villa" is not a house like in Italian, but instead means "community" in Nicaragua. Basically it is like a formal subdivision of a barrio. A discrete neighborhood within a barrio. Residencial and communidad are similar terms. A villa much like a small barrio.
