I keep them in a greenhouse...they are very sensitive to the elements, due to the lack of spines. They can get sun burnt, eaten by rodents and insects, they would probably not survive long in a natural environment.

I had these years ago and adore them still, could not keep mealy bugs away from them, with the nooks and crannies they just stayed put and lost all of them, do you propagate by cuttings or seed? Do you know if there's a natural origin point for these ,if I recall they were bokasana variant monstrose...?
