The rich are grabbing and owning the AI space and all the proceeds from it. We're already too late.

life, its complicated even without all the world changes. i can relate over the last 40+ years that things are so changed with social media and the desire to be wanted, needed and recognized. I continue at age 70 to bring happiness to others thru my photography and fitness lifestyle and teachings. one day at a time. still love your content. what drives me nuts are all the (cruising) bloggers. been around the world 96 cruises and didn't produce one video. lol! live!

Man, we have such a similar beginning and re-evaluation. The most important thing behind my childhood is the love the people around me bit, love your neighbor. I will lose everything important AND miss the point when I try and save the world, but caring for the people around me changes my world and impacts theirs.

Imagine you're scrolling through threads... until you're not. You nailed it with cafe culture! I don't mean to sound condescending but I find it interesting to hear the viewpoint from your generation. You're stressing over AI taking over jobs etc. My generation developed this beast AKA the digital age. I didn't have a cell phone until it became available/affordable in the 90's. My advice to you is to simply go outside and play. Keep your phone for emergencies and connect physically to as many people as you can. Remember that God is the creator and He created us in His image so we also are creators. Church hurt can be real but don't let the preferences, hypocrisy, approach, or indifference of a Christian get in the way of you and your relationship with God. He loves you and wants you to create!!!

Yes. I keep forgetting to take my B vitamins. Deficiency and sleep deprivation def causes that feeling. But also, just after a big event (like a wedding, historic election, or gaining citizenship after many years), there's a normal dip once things are quiet after so much anticipation. Hang in there! For us in the states, living in the DC area the "ill-eagle" migrant-crime and cartel ops have gotten very, very bad. You only see it if you go out to Walmart instead of ordering from Prime or working from home. (Red light runners, tents in the woods, panhandlers in nice areas, SA, d-rug-s and lots of gun violence). A lot of us are looking forward to the new year and new ways of dealing with these problems. I used to be a progressive dem and now consider myself an independent. Strained budgets, deficits, infrastructure needs, and gov waste/fraud have gone ignored way too long. I know that next year will be so much better, even with a bit of growing pains. Sometimes life has a way of making you accept change, because life is an never ending ebb and flow. Watch some Marisa Peer vids to help stay positive. Blessings from this side of the pond. We are all pulling for you, your videos are helping many around the world. Maybe make more vids of Cooper to get more attention, kids and animals as they say. Thanks for being you!

As an artist, I’m definitely feeling the existential dread with the corporatization and automation of everything. You’re definitely not alone.

I’ve basically given up hope and real effort on social media and focusing on meatspace. I’ve been investing more in traveling and nurturing my real in-person networks.

Don’t know if the idea of “making it” is healthy for me personally anymore but having the white whale to chase keeps me grounded and gives me a sense of purpose. I think we all need that thing to pursue against all odds.

As for not actually owning things such as music, books, films etc I think it’s slowly being realised that having physical items in your hands is so much better and involves you in a way that streaming can’t. Holding a book, feeling the weight, listening to an album on vinyl, including the crackles and pops which are all part of it’s history, is all part of the experience. Keep up with the videos, i’ve been enjoying them for years. x

I felt that same feeling building up as we got closer to the election. After it, I made a conscious choice to disconnect from media/news more just to protect my own mental health and reconnect to my other passions, friends and family more. It was like living in a constant state of “waiting for the other shoe to drop” or constant trauma/existential crisis from everything going on in the world. I absolutely agree with your take on trying to focus on the community directly around you…something you can actually feel that you can have a positive impact on. Otherwise, analysis paralysis my friend.

I’m 43, born and raised in Poland. Been in the US for the past 20 years. Let’s just say… I cherish the life I have had… post communistic, not fancy, simple…. in comparison to this world…. it wasn’t all that bad 😊

Watch the morning news so I can stay informed and I've pretty much abondoned all other news, all cable for sure. I've picked my favorite channels on YT, obviously your channel and try to limit myself to two hours a day. Then I try to have real life tactile eperiences. Understand your circle of influence and don't obsess about what is beyond that when you have no agency to make a difference. Seize the moment when you think you can be effective. Keep the conversation going like we are having a cup of coffee at a nice cafe with you.

dread? Yes....I have had that feeling for quite sometime. I keep feeling that something big is about to happen, but don't know what it is.

Excellent video Jay. Love your work and hope you’ll remain in this space for as long as you want to. I find the idea of AI influencers repugnant, but maybe I’m just old fashioned. It’s difficult to anticipate what this all looks like in 5 to 10 years time.

The world should be pushing to revert back to the lives of the 80’s and 90’s. Minimal tech that assisted with basic tasks but still highly dependent on people to perform jobs, and foster relationships and communication. The more heavily dependent we get on AI and not each other the closer we are to living in a full on dystopian civilization. We were created with the purpose to use our talents, socialize, communicate, reproduce , and add to society. Social media has ruined people’s drive for hard work, and personal experiences. Everyone just goes to a device for dopamine rushes . The world has lost its way. We are feeding I to the governments hands. They want us more reliant in them and tech that they will eventually fully oversee, and less dependent on each other and our voices

Dread? I'm an American, so yeah

I'm not feeling any dread, just determination. Been thru a few horrors in the past and I know they are survivable if one just makes a contribution to the cause of justice, whatever that contribution might be. sitting on your ass cowering in fear isn't helpful to anyone.

Hi Jay. Yes - deep dread. I’m Canadian and my neighbours are losing their minds - and we are a country of copycats. Terrifying. The first time I’ve felt safe since Nov2016, was this past October in Germany, France, Spain. Then we get horrid news - and a sense of peace is blown to shreds. But yes - it’s a time of lukewarm- diluted - everything.

Hey Jay, I think what we are all feeling is not dread, specifically. Dread implies there’s an event that is awaiting your action. What we are feeling is impending doom and massive global suffering. It’s a side effect of empathy. Empathy can cause overwhelm when there’s nothing to actually do. So what we are all doing is seeking a constructive outlet. Let’s try to be improve our patience that there will be things we can do in the future even if there’s nothing we can do now to stop these horrible events from happening,

I think people will get tired of anything after a while. So AI will find its place, we will survive as humans. Don't worry too much. AI can't even pronounce words with the right cadence yet. There will always be tells.
I already had to argue with an AI description of January 6th. It kept giving the exact same explanation as FoxNews. I kept telling it that it was incorrect, and about the third time it came up with a realistic definition of the events. So it is always going to be junk in, junk out.
