Would love to see you play a complete Augustus with everything fixed!
ОтветитьHi legend im so excited to see a caesar 3 video from you
ОтветитьDude you are fucking beast in this game, I learned so much from you. Caesar 3 is first game my father bought to me, and I never understood the game as kid and I hated it because I looked for more action, now I think this is one of the best games 😁
ОтветитьComo no no se haces el gran favor de activar los subtítulos en castellano? Te ganarías un suscriptor..
ОтветитьHi. Hope you could do specifics tutorial in Caesar 3 where you cover specific subject of the game. For example, What does prefecture do, it's behavior, it's impact, as well as engineers, why you need them and how to place them strategically. Includes certain information as per terrain, etc. This game is part of my childhood and I always perform horrible in this game. Please teach us how to play this recreational game properly. thanks!
ОтветитьI've played this game since i was a kid and did not know this tip. Thank you!
ОтветитьThis makes things so darn simple and efficient !
Ответитьwow thanks
ОтветитьThank you
Ответитьis there a max distance for a destination walker? or can you one-road snakeway a whole city? :)
ОтветитьAs they teach in film school, show don't tell. Once again, you dropped an excellent video on us. Was that a mic I heard dropping at the end? Lol.
ОтветитьIdea for a future video: effective ways of defeating Caesar's legions when you piss him off. There aren't too many videos about that, but it really proves your military might and makes you think. You know which direction soldiers come from, but what formation of towers, prefects, lion tamers and legions most effectively stomps Caesar?
ОтветитьThis is really helpful ^^
ОтветитьHere's a list of buildings this doesn't work with, either because the walkers follow different rules, or because they just can't be made infinite:
In C3: Prefectures, Engineer Posts, Forums, Schools
In Pharaoh: Police Stations, Tax Collectors, Courthouses
So with these buildings it's normally best to intersperse them throughout the block (as we see Zakh doing with Prefects and Engineers in this video). Note that it does still work with the Citizen (i.e. worker finder) that the building sends out, just not the building's actual worker.
So in addition to 2x2 buildings, it will also work with 1x1 buildings (like Clinics) and 3x3 buildings (like Academies), so long as the road still follows the rules and it's not one of the above exceptions.
"Surprisingly simple."

Very nice
ОтветитьYour pronounciation is very clear. My english is rusty nowadays, but i can understand everything you say. Thanks from Brazil.
ОтветитьOh wow. This changes everything lol I'm gonna have to try this out ASAP. Thank you so much for this explanation! I knew the general concept of forced walkers, but not the actual nitty-gritty regarding how to best implement it.
ОтветитьGreat job ! I watch your videos like they are movies !
But I don't like to leave the road like that (broken) What would happen if you complete the loop (unite de two ends of the road ?)
Have you tried to make the forced walkers on buildings of other sizes ? One by one ? Three by three ?
ОтветитьYou should do more tutorials like this regarding other cool concepts regarding Caesar 3. This tutorial was quick and did a very good job explaining how Forced Walkers and other Walkers work. Thank You very much. I loved the quick and in-depth style of this video.
ОтветитьWow, thanks man!!!
ОтветитьDoes this work with all buildings? doesn't seem to work with schools
Ответитьthank you for this video! it took me so long to get the gate thing, and i still learn something new. i really enjoy your caesar videos, wish you'd make them everyday☺
ОтветитьSo this is true for the original version of the game? Not just Augustus?
ОтветитьIs this a feature of Julius/Augustus?
ОтветитьGoing to try this with Pharaoh soon. Any idea if it works with Emperor?
ОтветитьThanks Gamerzakh! Super video and the technique is super fun and interesting, I just started a new campaign and it is great. Only problem that I have is, that the marker supplies to the houses are a bit unstable, sometimes a house just does not get food or pottery or anything else all the others have. That is a bit annoying. Have you faced this problem as well?
Ответить"How to become a Loop Hero in under 3 min!!"
ОтветитьAny idea if this technique has an analog in Caesar 4?
ОтветитьI dont play this game so I dont understand why that is a good thing, can someone explain?
Ответитьnice
ОтветитьWOW! I thought i needed a mod, but it's not so!!!! Thank u man
ОтветитьGreat video, but for some reason i can't get it to work. For example i place my market down. But the market lady just vanishes after she walked lets say 30 blocks. What am i doing wrong?
ОтветитьMan, you deserve a Nobel Prize for that
ОтветитьThis is a good explanation. I had found the Caesar 3 forums and several threads talking about Forced Walkers, but it was much text with little clarity.
ОтветитьLike from Russia
ОтветитьThere's probably a generation of kids that could never beat this game back then.
ОтветитьThis is useful but I feel like the implication isn’t explained. So I can get them to walk really far. How do I use that? Are you saying I can have a single school and have the school kid walker service a huge number of homes if I lay things out right?
ОтветитьThis is going to change things. In pharaoh I build a separate road on the outside touching people because I didn't like the undesirable buildings in the residential area, but then I need extra architects and firehouses, and with large distances I sometimes needed to double up. I always run out of workers. Oh I see firehouses and architects work only occasionally. (1x1 building)
ОтветитьThis is revolutionary! Great video, straight to the point and really clear explanation
ОтветитьThe remaster of Pharaoh got me back to city building after a years-long hiatus. I only wish I had found your channel earlier.
A question about forced walkers: You used a 2x2 building as an example. Would it also work for 1x1 building walkers, such as engineers? I know that roads merge if they are only one tile apart, but couldn't a road 2 tiles apart be 'pinched' only at the site of a 1x1 building and then diverge again to make said building's walker into a forced walker?
Sigh, I still have trouble pulling this off sometimes
Ответитьis there a size limit? i dont know what im doing wrong actually. i have a forced walker save about a month ago that spans roughly 270 blocks, 4 such blocks on a 400 x 400 map, and it works fine. and im trying a new self imposed challenge (in no way should it inpact forced walker, but the challenge is to make a city without exporting) and the new loop is roughly thousands of blocks, basically the bottom of the map is all my production including farms, furniture, pottery, and the road loops an entire 400 x 400 map ending up at the top of my loop. basically what im trying to say is, now that ive upped the travel distance to such ludicrous numbers, its not working, and i have cut it down to roughly 500 blocks, and it starts working again... i didnt count the 500 block one, but i did count the 270 blocks. and it is roughly a little under double the size. i tried to push it to 1000 blocks, and it stops working again.
ОтветитьThe other thing i see in speedruns: the excessive placing of libaries and academys to increase culture
ОтветитьThis seems way more exploity than all of the QOL improvements Augustus made haha
ОтветитьOk I first played this game in 2000. Never made it past mediolanum or lugdunum at the time. Just recently bought it again on steam and with the augustus quality of life improvements and essencially the roadblock, I'm doing alright for most of the game. Of course, between that first experience and the current one there's been thousands of hours of pharoah gameplay which came in handy in a lot of ways. But never have I ever learned about this forced walking thing and let me tell you, this completely changes the game and all experience I got from the 20+ years. This might completely change the way I play it and make my cities a lot better looking, as I've perfected a block based layout that makes all cities look annoyingly similar and quite limited in terms of how they deal with obstacles. The possibilities are near limitless!
ОтветитьWhy would I want them to walk longer distances?
ОтветитьHas the ability to do this been nerfed recently?
I've watched a few of your vids and had a go at this but it seems it doesn't work?
