Experimental patch using looping A/D envelopes' end of cycle gates as clocks and to see if I could get melodic content playing two 8-step sequencers against each other with each being driven by a looping A/D's gates. Dirtied it up with cross modulation between the voices. It ain't pretty.

Recorded as 3 tracks into Ableton Live. Reverb/delay/EQ/compression added in post.

PATCH DETAILS:
Wanted to see if my Buchla method of using looping envelopes for timing works with Corsynth C106. It does. I've got A and B both in loop mode. B is able to fire off 4 cycles to every 1 from A, and B's end of cycle gate is re-triggering A. Since the module is wired to ignore triggers during the attack phase only the final cycle of B effects A after its long attack. That little trick keeps them linked in a repeating cycle. Additionally, the bipolar out of B modulates A's decay which doesn't do anything exciting but keeps them influencing each other when tweaking. Then A's bipolar out modulates B's attack and decay. That causes the cycle lengths to be uneven, making an interesting pattern - 2 fast beats, 2 longer beats, over a single cycle from A.

Also turned into a little experiment in creating melodic sequences on SympleSEQ. Instead of using a clock I have A's end of cycle pulse out triggering SympleSEQ one, and B's end of cycle pulse triggering SympleSEQ two, so SSEQ 1 advances one step for every 4 from SSEQ 2. The two 4-step variations on SSEQ 2 play against the sustained notes from SSEQ 1. Worked out well. Had to ugly-up the voices so C104 sine is FM-ing Q106A, while Q106A pulse wave feeds C104's ring mod for a really harsh sound. Deep Equinox is chewing on the saw from Q106A creating another voice. The result is a nasty, sloppy melody.
