I was just watching the office before watching this video 🤯
ОтветитьHis daddy calls him subsonic, so imma call him subsonic.
ОтветитьHello again I’m baaack 🤭…..okay so new skar box from their SPL line….if the 12inch Ported Box it Tuning Frequency is 41hz around where would I set the SubSonic Filter? Help? Please
Ответитьexelente explicación, felicitaciones por su video realmente muy importante, siga adelante con su canal y con el mundo del car audio
ОтветитьAn easier way to set it, is crank it up with a 20 Hz test tone and than turn your infrasonic knob up until the voice coil stops slapping the back plate of the magnet lol 😂 jkjkjk
ОтветитьSo a 4th order wouldn't use subsonic? Because a sealed enclosure has more control over subwoofer?.
ОтветитьGood helpful video. You do a really good job at explaining stuff thats important in car audio that a lot of people don’t realize. Thank you for doing what you do for all of us
ОтветитьI Slapped the sub button right there…
subs a slapping.
I would like to get your input about the Dayton Audio 18" subwoofer that Amazon is selling as a car subwoofer, and I would like to know is it worth buying?
ОтветитьDamn man lay off the blow. Way to fast to understand anything
ОтветитьI have a question, if the box is sealed but you have 2 subs facing 2 others in a single box, why can I reach x-max easy without subsonic "amps nob name" they are push the air together. So it gets pretty high pressure in that box hahaha
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьDo we tune it to the Hz of the ported box? Or the Hz of the subwoofer. What if they are different?
ОтветитьAre all ISF's with the reading of 20-50 the same across different amplifiers, meaning, I been trying to figure out where is the 25hz position is on my Skar RP15001.d. Looking at this amp as an example because it shows the numbers and the Skar and this amp has the same range. Could I use this as a reference to help dial in my target frequency? Thank you
ОтветитьI bought a prebuilt box with two compr how do I find the port tuning frequency?
Ответитьall audio components are factory tested wired. Also to test an output of your audio component should also be tested wired in the vehicle. Although it was stated this is for fun and entertainment
ОтветитьYou showed a picture of all the amp settings then didn’t talk about any of them. It was confusing
ОтветитьI have a real question I'm setting up a build with a 15" sub and I'm building a box for it and I'm not 100% sure if I wanna go port or no port on the box
Ответитьmost infrasonic filters 12-18db? It's 6db??.708
in voltage I believe this is correct. I haven't double checked at max power it was set at half volume as shown here for 40fs driver 32hz tuned set to 24hz
Hi how do set my sub amp if I have a processor and an epicenter
ОтветитьOk,I'm hooking up my son's sub amp, I'm just going to put all settings at 1/2 way and hope for the best , hopefully that will be ok
ОтветитьSince i have access to a SPL meter, I use that, along with test tones, and set on repeat, to set my subsonic filter. I recommend using a test tone 5Hz to 10Hz below port tuning, and reducing SPL output @ that freq., by 1 to 3Db depending on how much power you have, and how conservative you want to be. Example: If you have (2) -1,000 watt r.m.s. Subwoofers, and power them with recommended power, which is usually around 75% of r.m.s. power handling, so around 1,500 r.m.s for the pair, i would use a test tone 7Hz below port tune, and reduce output by 2Db. Make sure the subsonic is turned all the way down, before starting the test. Start selected test tone on repeat @ a conservative volume, example: If a system is capable of 140Db @ max, @ 45Hz, and the ported enclosure was tuned @ 37Hz, i would use a 30Hz test tone, and turn up the volume slowly to around 120Db (have SPL meter set to real time=Not peak hold), @30Hz, so its loud enough, but very sustainable, and wont heat up coils quickly, or drop voltage. Also listen to the speaker, if it makes bad noises, turn it down, or off. Then slowly adjust the subsonic filter, until it reduces the Db by 2, @ 30Hz, so 118Db. If you want to be more conservative/safe, set subsonic -3Db, @ 5Hz below port tuning, and if you want to be less conservative, set subsonic -1Db, @ 10Hz below port tuning. Hope this helps, have a great day, Audio fans.
ОтветитьI want large xmax and a large speaker, say 48 inches wide, what wire size for a 16 inch voice coil
ОтветитьThese videos are EXTREMELY helpful, thank you for making them.
ОтветитьYoung Mann I’m trying to play CATCH UP with all your very informative videos I have some RFD 2208 Rockford’s that have been in hiding in my closet that need to come back from the DEAD !!! Hook me up on what I need Please
ОтветитьIm using a JL audio HD 1200/1 to run a 13W7 in a ported enclosure. The HD1200/1 has a infrasonic filter which is factory set at 30hz and can only be set to on or off. My ported enclosure is built to JL audio specifications and tuned to 34.6hz. I feel the 30hz infrasonic filter is a little too close to the box tuned frequency of 34 and may be losing/missing alot of bass. I've turned the infrasonic filter off and the sub plays alot better and sounds much smoother aswell. I can't help but be a little worried about damaging the sub.
ОтветитьNeed help so my watts power sub is 4 595.5rms x by 2ohms =95.86 gain so my subsonic will be the same right ?
My amp is 98.05
Dunder Mifflin Assistant to the regional manager
ОтветитьI'm a math freak & one of my favorite parts of being an audiophile other than the beauty of sound is the math. If you're not sure about something, just check the math. Awesome video. Thank you
ОтветитьWhere do you learn this type of knowledge. What school would I have to go to?
ОтветитьI've learned more in this video than I've heard and known in 20 years or I mean 28 years . Damn I'm old 😕 lol
ОтветитьThanks for giving us free master classes.
ОтветитьThis video cracks me up.. great video , informative, in addition even the way you put in the ad is funny..
Ответитьmy sub is tuned to 32hz what should my sonic filter be at? about 40hz or 20hz
ОтветитьI’ve watched this twice and I still don’t know what to do xD my Memphis amp has that knob, and idk how to tune it, I just turn some knobs and it sounds good to me lol but that doesn’t mean it’s good for my subs
ОтветитьLove the shirt
ОтветитьJust installed two ct sounds tropo 8” in a 2.000 sqft3 box with a 39hz frequency, just installed winisd type in all specs and around 50hz I’m over come excursion , so I set high pass filter at 50hz to be under the 9mm redline , it puts me right below the redline however I am max on my high pass filter is that correct ?
ОтветитьMy amp at 12 slope should I multiply with the .501 ?
Ответить👍
ОтветитьSo DIY I have 2 PPI pro mos np infrasonic filter on these amps , I listen to some rock mostly rap, r&b ( no magic Mike type play list ) are my selected listening choices 33hz or lower and do I have to rule out ported enclosure?
ОтветитьAll a waste of time just none sense,,,,all good if your a technician,,,,,,average person would just like to see a simple video an how the sub moves and sound by adjusting the sub sonic
ОтветитьInfrasonic and subsonic and two totally different things.
ОтветитьHow come my sub pop when I higher my lpf
ОтветитьWould Like to see in in depth review of the Audiocontrol Epicenter. It's been around forever, but I just discovered it. Apparently its just like a guitar octave pedal. A game changer for bass heads. Especially if you like older classic rock and maybe even old hip hop.
ОтветитьOk so if my box is tuned to 40hz my sub sonic should be set to 28hz right?
here what I have 2 10x4mofos at 1ohm box is tuned to 40-42hz but now I'm confused on where my lpf and sub sonic should be I thought lpf should be 40hz and sub sonic 28hz but now I'm lost can you help please
love the info and clear delivery. Thanks!
ОтветитьI have a 2015 VW beetle hatchback with an sa classic sundown and the 1500 mono amp @1ohm. Nothing is stock. I also have a 4ch@80. I'm trying to go more for SQ than SPL. What would be better for the hatchback area. Currently it's in a prefab 40-41hzs tune with 1.68 cub after everything is subtracted. I also have an extra battery in the back.
ОтветитьI've read elsewhere that in winisd you need to double the listed xmax of your sub when entering the data since in winisd it's looking for peak-peak. Is this the case?
Ответить
